Found this in a ProJo article about some of the DBs in the upcoming draft:

When he met with Pats’ brass, Rodgers-Cromartie said, they asked the standard questions but also were the first team to ask him to draw up a defensive play.

“It threw me off-guard a bit,” Rodgers-Cromartie said. “I was expecting to answer personal questions like everybody else was asking me and then you got, ‘Draw up a defense for me.’ ”

It's funny how such a minor thing can be so emblematic of what makes this team successful.

I don't hink his answer was all that great. he chose to break down the cover two. He should have tried something we run more. plus he should have tried something more complicated.

Do you really expect every DB to be studying up onthe Pats' defensive tendencies, in addition to everything else they need to do? :)

Seriously, though, it's better to nail something "simple" than to get in over your head on something you don't know as well.

I think it's more of a test of how he handled the unexpected using his head !

By breaking down a cover two, which he admitted was the easiest defense too draw up might hurt him a little in Belichick's eyes. Now, if he got excited at the question and drew up a complicated defense, the Pats coaches would be drooling !

Well he is a player not a coach and they have time limits on the interview time for all we know it was near the end of the interview adn he only had a little bit of time to do. I don't know this but for arguements sake kest say he had 3 minutes left in the interview he does the cover 2. who's to say that if he had 15 minutes he couldn't have come up witha zone blitz cover 1 man to man CB blitz.

That's why he is GOING into the NFL and Bill will teach him those.
