Ordway: Holley: Pats/Rams shared video equipment before game

Not really sure what he meant. According to Ordway a few minutes ago on WEEI, Holley said either on the air today or yesterday or privately to Ordway that the Patriots and Rams shared video equipment before XXXVI. Apparently it was because of the high post-9/11 security.

Again, not sure what exactly is meant by that or how that changes things.

If I understand that correctly, it would mean that there was only one set of cameras available, so it would have been more obvious if there were "extra" cameramen present.

I'm assumming what it meant was if the NFL knew only one camera was certified to be there, then it would be harder to get away illegally videotaping with a second camera. Again, this is just an assumption.

I hadn't given this a thought before, but security must of been real high and near imposible for Matt Walsh to have gone the practice without some kind of record of him being there.

In the day's following 9-11, they would not have just let him pass with only his credentials, he must of signed in somewhere. To even think of sneaking in would have been insane.

Or, it could potentially mean that the Rams taped their own walkthrough, and in the transition the tape fell into Walsh's hands.

Hard to believe the Rams would be that stupid, but from what I've seen of Walsh, I don't put it beneath him.

The other thing Ordway and DeOssie mentioned is how it would be, considering the security, nearly impossible for Walsh to hide after the Patriots' team picture and somehow set up his camera from the stands without anyone noticing.

Remember this: Belichick said that he has never heard of a walkthrough ever being filmed in his entire career. He said there's no point in filming your own walkthrough. So, why would the Rams walkthrough be filmed? Why would the Rams film their own walkthrough?

No idea. I was just throwing the idea out there. Of course, just because Belichick doesn't see a reason to do something, doesn't mean Martz wouldn't do it.

I'm sure Belichick wouldn't see the point of throwing 75% of the time against a nickel and dime defense when you've got Marshall Faulk in the backfield... but that's exactly what Martz did

Right. I guess what I'm saying is that if Walsh had ever come into possession of a copy, he would have told someone on the Patriots (i.e. the Patriots would have heard about it). Belichick says he has never heard of such a thing in all his years.

Plus, the Ordway quote makes no mention of this sharing of video equipment during the walkthrough. It just says it happened before the SB.

I have heard this befoe...a few weeks ago. For one, it was a quick week from the playoff game to the Super Bowl. From Sunday a day and then to NO. As they also said, Weiss and Crennel stayed behind to look at video and game plan becuase they did not have their equipment with them. Not sure if it was the quickness or the 911 security, but I bet the latter was quite large, esp 5 months after. From what I understand, any filming of practices would have to be done with the ame equipment. Might Walsh had gotten a tape left BY the Rams? Not sure, but it IS an interesting sidebar.

Now Walsh's only move is to write a tell-all book, charge 1 dollar a copy, and pray to all that's holy that he sells 1 thousand million copies to make up the debt.

It's a sick sick world, but this is what happens when you get into bad business with bad people.

I have wondered about the variable of the security considering its proximity to post 9-11... this story seems to be loosing some steam, be interesting to see how the pundits handle it if it is not true.. don't hold your breath waiting for an apology.

If the Pats and RAMS shared video equipment, where did the camera that the Pats used to tape the RAMS come from ? Maybe the RAMS were sloppy and left their tape in a camera borrowed from the Patriots ? This opens many doors of possibilities as too where any tape might come from !

c'mon guys. you know better. any tape of anything to do with the rams, requardless of where walsh got it, will be a conviction. we're already guilty in everyones eyes. so this theory about walsh finding it in the rams camera, is stupid, and wont help us in anyway what so ever.

So..Walsh steals a tape or in some other ways gets a tape and THAT convicts the Patriots?? I don't think so...given Walsh's lack of credibility, the only people who will automatically believe Walsh are the Patriot haters.. There MAY be other ways Walsh could have a tape..and that doesn't at all prove the Pats knew about it, esp when Walsh taped conversations according to Pioli and that that might have had led to his firing. In a court of law, it would be laughable..even if he HAD a tape. That is just the start, not the finish. The worst case scenario is what I think will happen. No agreement with Walsk will be made, as Walsh wants to be totally free of any law suit and be able to peddle his wares to public. whether true or not, free of lawsuits. The Patriots do want it to come out, for they know it's all false. Keeping it hidden only leads to speculation of the unknown and that is the worst for the team.

The tape itself will answer many questions, good chance we'll know who's using the camera, thngs like RAMS players talking to the cameraman like they know him, stuff like that. I did see recently that Walsh is backtracking on the RAMS tape, heard that on profootballtalk.com, anyone else hear that ?
