dayum.........

Wow. This could make the 7th overall a coveted spot. Assuming the Jets don't take him.

ok new mock goes somethin like this..

Rd 1 #7 Darren McFadden RB Arkansas
Rd 2 #67 Dexter Jackson WR Appalachian St.
Rd 3 ......
Rd 3 .......
Rd 4 ......

word.

1 Miami Chris Long DE Virginia
2 St Louis Glenn Dorsey DT LSU
3 Atlanta Matt Ryan QB Boston College
4 Oakland Sedrick Ellis DT USC
5 Kansas City Jake Long OT Michigan
6 NY Jets Vernon Gholston OLB Ohio St
7 New England Darren McFadden RB Arkansas

I would not be happy with that draft, and what makes you think McFadden will make it to seventh considering many felt he wouldn't be available at seven before the Combine, let alone after running a 4.27?

The Raiders will probably go ape sh*t over this, and use their top 5 pick on him. In any case, I wish Pats fans would stop talking about the guy. Know this, they WILL NOT select him, if he makes it that far. He likely will not make it that far, and the Jets would take him, or trade out of their pick so the Cowboys or some other team could move up for him.

Oh, and Big man Jonathan Stewart just ran a 4.44 at 235lbs. I really like him, too.

Doubt it.

The New England Patriots already have the best offense in NFL history. Meanwhile the Patriots defense will have cornerback departures via unrestricted free agency and possible retirements at the inside linebacker position.

Either the Oakland Raiders or the New York Jets will definitely grab McFadden. I'm in total agreement with your assessment.

it could happen never said it would. Miami wont take him they have alot of RBs and Parcells wont do it. STlouis has Steven Jackson. Atlanta he could easily go there. They could go with Matt Ryan too. Oakland just resigned Fargas and has Michael Bush in the wings, i bet they go with one of the two big DTs. KC has Larry Johnson plus they wont pass on Jake Long or Clady.

So that leaves the Jets. McFadden could easily go there Thomas Jones is a scrub. Mangini might want to go defense for the 3-4 and Gholston could be a realistic pick.

So it depends on Atlanta really, they need to take Ryan for McFadden to fall. Also wouldnt rule out some team trading up. I think our #7 spot is the lowest McFadden could fall.

theres no CB would the #7 spot. McFadden is BPA and we could use another RB actually. If McFadden is on the board the pats will take him or they will trade the pick to some team for a fortune, like Dallas.

I think your analysis is spot on. I would like to see the Jets take him rather than having to worry about them having Gholston coming after TB. The Jets would be smart to pass on McFadden. They aren't beating the Pats until the can stop our offense.

The New England Patriots will most likely trade down from #7 as has been the case with trading first round draft picks in 2003 and 2007.

As sebman said, you can't discount the Raiders doing something like taking McFadden, Al Davis is at least half insane. And it's a very real possibility that Jerry Jones trades into the top five to draft McFadden. I don't see any way McFadden drops to the seventh pick. At all.

i would not like it one bit if the pats picked McFadden

I value what Mayock says, and i don't want a guy who's going to get arm tackled and immediately stops moving when there is contact. He is supposedly very weak in the legs when hit. This isn't a track race.

so you have....

Jake Long
Chris Long
Vernon Gholston
Sedric Ellis
Glen Dorsey
Matt Ryan
Darren McFadden

maybe someone will want to trade up to 7 a little more now...

I don't know about needing another running back. Morris and Maroney are signed long term, and Kevin Faulk is probably the best third down back in the league. That's a lot of money to play a guy who won't bring much value to the Pats early on...

i wouldnt mind trading down from 7 either, id take McFadden over trading down though. Id trade down if McFadden, JLong, CLong are all off the board.

I doubt McFadden gets past the Oakland Raiders. Al Davis has always been obsessed with collegiate players who have speed.

I'm not trying to be dense here, but how exactly? What does he bring to the table that Maroney, Morris, Faulk, Evans, and Eckel don't?

i would say Morris and Faulk have only a few good years left they are getting old. Maroney hasnt exactly lit it up either but i think he is good. The combo of Maroney and McFadden though is tooo good.

Atlanta, Oakland, or the Jets could all be spots for McFadden. Oakland resigning Fargas won't keep them from taking McFadden. Fargas is good, but he is not in the same class as McFadden (especially now that he dropped a 4.27). Russell and McFadden has the makings of a pretty good core if you are Al Davis.

4.27 speed. Great athletism, leadership, makes players around him better, elite competativness, explosive running game.
