"Actually," he said, "you could learn quite a bit from our walkthrough. We do some red-zone, goal-line and short-yardage stuff -- plays that we will use in a game. So in those situations you can get a competitive advantage.

"For the overall game, that's a small part, so who's to say it had a bearing or effect on things? But that's not the point. The point to me is that, clearly, if it did happen it's wrong. It's cheating. Everyone keeps saying, 'Well, it didn't affect the game,' but that's not the point.

"It's against the rules. Since when did we dismiss that part of it? That's why I think it needs to be investigated just to make sure there are no lingering effects, so you can put this thing to bed and maintain the integrity of this league. Something of this magnitude you'd like to see taken to its final conclusion."

You could learn a lot. did the Patriots learn a lot? No. The Rams were 100% TDs in the red zone that game.

Mike needs to get help for his emotional disorders which have severely impacted his NFL career. Listening to him this week only underscores that.

Not that I believe we did it, 'cause I don't, but is there actually a rule prohibiting the taping of another teams practice? Is is another video rule, or can you spy minus video? What about if you buy a tape from some celebrity guest or hanger on or pool reporter or Ram's staffer, or someone who acquired a tape from them somehow? Wouldn't that be like Miami buying enhanced tape of Brady with audio where they could map all his calls and signals or collecting xeroxed copies of playbooks from former players or taking lap tops with you when you resign...

I mean really, someone needs to tell all these clowns from the Rams in particular to STFU. You didn't get into the red zone until the 4th quarter and then you scored (after Willie saved Warner from his fumbling). We didn't ruin your careers, you did. We just out played you, difficult as that may be for you to comprehend. Couple of other teams did that season too. LOOK IN THE FRIGGIN' MIRROR...

As for the rest of it, the correct response is that's a league matter if in fact it is a rules violation. That's why Bill always responds that way rather than adding his 2 cents to things that are none of his GD business. Maybe next time some issue arises Bill should opine that the entire league needs to be questioned under oath to once and for all establish if anyone is undermining the supposed integrity of this league.

The resident Bills fan proves his incredible worth to the forum again, though.

I'm all for that. If everyone is doing it, and it is in fact against the rules as the NFL understands them, it needs to stop immediately and the NFL should punish everyone involved.

You lurking me in every thread is really starting to creep me out...

So what was Martz doing spying on the Patriots practices, which the league looked into and notified officials? I dont have the link but I remember someone posting it some time ago...That to me is more incriminating than this thing that supposedly some fired ex emplyee once did and has but may not have evidence of it even though everyone in the patriots organization has refuted this practice.

PS MARTZ the NFL is getting to the bottom of this and id say they already have. Everyone and their mama wants to believe Walsh has something but I ask WHY? HE lacks so much credibility and has been proven to have lied on 3 major accounts already. One more to go...

You lurking me in every thread is really starting to creep me out...

You have all the control over that.

Stop making ****ty posts and I'll stop making fun of them.

this shows why Martz hasn't done a damn thing since the superbowl and why The rams were never the same team.... including Kurt Warner.

Ever since the Pats physically dominated those losers, they've been walking around, acting like everyone OWES them something.

Bunch of LOSERS.

So you'd rather watch CourtTV than football, huh?

How can they possibly police this with technology today. Can't be done. I could sit in the stands, film those guy with my camera, and then pass it on to Ernie Adams somehow.

How are you going to police that?

And your posts are so thought provoking and profound... no one can make fun of someones dead child quite like you.

If you can't police it, I'm all for making it legal. All I want is a level playing field.

WOW! So let me see if I understand this ...

If a team can learn THAT much from watching a team practice, just imagine how much they could learn from watching tape of an ACTUAL GAME.

It's mind boggling really. I certainly hope that no teams try to gain an advantage by watching actual GAME TAPE of teams playing actual football games. Such a revelation would ROCK the football world.

Is this the third thread you've managed to bring up a dead baby on a football forum?

And you're calling me creepy?

Maybe Martz can get the ball rolling by telling us who on his stasff was spying on the Pats as reported in the NY Times on 2/2/2002.

That's still not as creepy as you stalking another dude on a football forum.

This was my reaction as well. If we need to "get to the bottom" of every rumour, then shouldn't that one be looked into, particularly since an NFL official also saw the telescope. Also, if I claim that I videotaped the Pats practice for the Colts prior to the '07 AFCCG is the league also obligated to "get to the bottom of it".

While I assumed that videotaping another team's walkthrough isn't legal, the story about Denver videotaping SAn Diego's practices and the league saying it was a "team issue" makes me question my assumption. What would be the difference, particularly since tape from a private practice would probably contain more valuable information than tape from a walkthrough with many non team attendees. Would it be because it's a SB or "private property" versus public access (i.e. the hill)?

Lastly, I hope that someone clears up what typically happens at a walkthrough. Most everyone I've heard says that they do not run plays they intend to at walkthroughs yet Martz is talking about it like it was a real practice. Was Martz an idiot (running real plays) or is he lying?

I'm strangely attracted to the small subset of the population pathetic enough to spend their time trolling a forum of a football team they don't root for.

What can I say?

Lock your door at night, cutie.

You don't get it.

It's already legal.

On multiple occasions the NFL has said it's OK to steal signals.

The only thing they have a rule against is filming on the sidelines. That's pretty easy to police. That's why there's a rule against it.

True...and Martz is an idiot..because OBVIOUSLY he believes that there is more to it...well what is there??? you open up Pandorra's box and you will get a LOT of things you don't really want out..the NFL knows this..which is why they want to slam it shut bow..
