Belichick needs to go to charm school [merged]

Let's face it, for a franchise that has less arrest, drug problems and dancing clowns than most, we get a lot of crap.

And crap is a....distraction. With the great undefeated run, we did not need more pressure, but we sure had it.

Did it affect our play, freshness, fatigue in the SB? I think it's seriously debatable.

BB is the greatest coach but he makes no effort to do the public relations part of his job.

It's entertainment. Lots of reporters need their notebooks filled. If you don't give them something and look at them like they are moron's, they'll make something up and it won't be good.

BB's a smart guy. His attitude helped torpedo him in Cleveland and it's doing the same here. Whatever his problem is, he needs to get over it.

This is entertainment. Reporters, Morons though they may be, have a job to do.

I hate to be blunt, but he's hurting the team.

There's only a "public relations part of the job" because the media (and to a lesser extent the fans) "demand" one. Last I checked, talking to the media rarely, in and of itself, helps Belichick do his real job--coach the Patriots and win games.

Frankly, I don't give a rat's *** what Belichick does with respect to the media so long as he helps the Patriots win games.

you need to go back and finish grammer school, give me a break hes hurting the team, being nice to the media gets you nothing, if you dont understand that maybe you should go back and finish pre school

Say what you want about Bill but he is no rumpswab. Except for family, friends and the Patriots he answers to nobody and that is just perfect for me because it leaves him free to do what he does best ... coach my team.

He can't change who he is. IMO, it's wrong to ask him to change who he is. But why didn't he scream at the O-line? that's a different story. Why didn't he try to run 40 seconds off the clock? That's a different story too.

Belichick respects certain media members. Listen to his press conferences and it is by no means a secret who those people are. He enjoys his time with Mike Lynch, Mike Reiss, Chirs Berman, Glen Ordway, and, at one time, Peter King.

His job is to coach the New England Patriots. His job is not to be the face of the franchise. His job is to win football games, not answer the same dumb questions over and over again.

Why should Belichick go out ofhis way to help the reporters "fill their notebooks?" They ask questions, he gives answers. If they want more, they have to ask the right questions. They have a job to do. Belichick has a job to do. He does not need to do their job for them, there is no time for that. He has to prepare 53 men for a game on Sunday. Nothing more.

After witnessing the BB era so far all i have to say in response to the OP is that I have nothing but total RESPECT for Bill Belichick.

Over the same time frame, my respect for the media could not possibly be any less. I am totally astounded by what I have witnessed by the writers, reporters and talking heads formerly known as professionals and now much better referred to as mediots (sorry Mike Reiss and Michael Holley, you two are among a tiny minority of how your profession should carry themselves).

What I have seen lately from these mean spirited, cruel, nasty, self absorbed........turds, has been enough to sour me on every single "sports news" outlet available.

Were this another time we could put them all away with a simple decree "OFF WITH THEIR HEADS".

Any NFL head coach is a public face for a team and media and public relations is a very real part of the job in the age of technology that we live in.

The media, the fans and the owners/commissioner. Who's left? He certainly turns on the charm to the players.

I know I've gone to work and had to listen to suggestions of how todo my job from people who don't know what they're talking about.
