how can they be compared to tapes provided by Walsh. As far as we all know all of the tapes have been destroyed, so if Walsh has the tapes and comes forth how do we know that the tapes he has have already been provided and destroyed??

I think I have become completely saturated with this crap gate stuff, mangini sucks..

If he has sideline defensive signal taping, there is no big deal. The Patriots have already been punished for that.

It's a big deal if he has a tape of the Rams SB walkthrough. The Patriots denied that, and that taping was not part of the punishment already handed down.

all taping isn't equal

The Patriots still seem to have plausible deniability even if Walsh does produce a tape of something 'more sinister'. If he does, which is still uncertain, they will just say he did it on his own, especially if there is nothing on the tape that proves who is filming it or for what purpose.

That is not going to really matter. What will matter is if the contents of Walsh's tapes are not inline with The stuff already confiscated.

What I am saying is on the league confiscated tapes we are video taping oppositions signals. It Wont mean anything if this just a tape of us doing the same thing to a different team because it is already assumed we did that.

The problem would be if it is of other sorts of things like a walk thru.

Are the patriots not respinsible for their employees actions. Wether he is the head guy or the grounds crew.

While there may be truth to the fact that this guy could have worked on his own what is the difference. A Patriot employee is still doing it.

What we need to hope for is that the stuff on Walsh's tape is the same as the other tapes. Not neccesarily the same games but if all he has is tapes of signals than we should be fine.
Or even better just hope it is completely bogus.

But again this should all be mute as I don't think Walsh has anything new or daming on this team.

I disagree. When a current Patriots' employee is caught during a game with a camera in-hand, the Patriots are 100% responsible for his actions.

When a former employee, who was allegedly fired for misconduct and is currently requesting immunity from getting in trouble for lying if he decides to lie, comes up with allegations after having been removed from the league for some time... the Patriots' responsibility will be up for debate.

If he is lying than the Pats are off the hook no problems there. But if he is being truthful which I doubt than the Patriots are partly responsible. They hired him and kept him for a few years and were presumebly training him to do his job (not that they had to be telling him to tape walk thrus).

Is baseball not partly respnsible for the steriod problem or just the players who took them. Baseball was not telling its players to do it but still should have some responsibility.

Take sports out of the equation. Think of any company do you think their clients would care that a mistake was done by some lowly employee, no the mistake reflects the company.

Re: Here is a question I do not understand, if the tapes have been destroyed..

I'm speaking strictly in terms of legal responsibility and likely outcomes that will affect the team realistically. Not 'responsible' in the ethical sense. Even in that respect, I can't say.

By suggesting that Walsh was fired for secretly taping a conversation they had, Pioli (a trustworthy person as far as we know) set him up as a fink. It's now believable that Walsh could have done something stupid without the knowledge of the Patriots, either to blackmail them at some point, or attempt to extract money through a lawsuit... or simply just for fun, not realizing what would happen later.

I don't claim to know the truth, but at this point, anything is possible.

In terms of legally doesn't matter as the NFL can punish the pats and BB with out needing the law to back them up. There was nothing illegal in the first instance. If the NFL feels that what is on Walsh's tape is daming enough than they will come at the pats even if they can't prove BB had anything to do with it. I think it would than be on BBs shoulders to prove he had nothing to do with it. This is not a court and BB i think would have to prove his innocence not vise versa like in a court. And it is not easy to prove a negative.

Re: Here is a question I do not understand, if the tapes have been destroyed..

I was just thinking about what the Patriots actually told the commish. They promised to have given him everything they had. This included 6 video tapes, and notes that actually covered other games going all the way back to the year 2000, so they already admitted to having videotaped back then.

Here's what I don't understand, if they already gave him everything they (as an organization) had, and admitted to filming from 2000 all the way up to 2007, then how the hell could Roger penalize them for any tapes Walsh has? Those aren't tapes the Patriots could have handed over to comply with his demands, as they didn't have them. They might not have even realized those tapes still existed. To a further extent (what Pioli and BB hinted at), they might not have even known he made those films.

And, let's not forget that Walsh still has yet to prove he's got the mustard.

Who hangs Patriots posters in their bedroom and collects footballs? I'm expecting to see bunkbeds next.

You obviously like them since you read them and have a need to comment on
every one. Are you the spygate thread police? If so, get a life.

Haha I'm a 22 year old female and I have Patriots plaques in my bedroom and I also have numerous Pats teddy bears and blankets and signed posters and footballs...everything! I have Patriots car placemats, towels, tissue dispensers, picture frames, rugs etc.etc etc...I'm also working on getting a FatHead lol. I wear the Patriots cheer jacket every day of my life from September to April. I'm not trying to defend Walsh, DONT GET THAT WRONG...but I have a TON of Pats memoribilla! I dont consider myself immature or anything bc I have it. When I graduate from college I'm still gonna take all my Pats crap with me. I fully plan on dedicating an entire room in my house one day for my Pats stuff. lol now I feel like such a loser!! haha. :D
