Albert Haynesworth-DL- Titans Feb. 20 - 4:24 pm et

The Titans officially placed the franchise tag on Albert Haynesworth.

He will earn $7.25 million if he plays under the tag, but don't expect him to sign for a while. The Titans and Haynesworth will work on a long-term deal, but both sides have some motivation to put it off. Haynesworth's effort has been inconsistent in his career, but another All Pro year could make him the richest defender in the league.

Nnamdi Asomugha-DB- Raiders Feb. 20 - 4:24 pm et

Raiders named CB Nnamdi Asomugha their franchise player, giving him the "exclusive" version of the tag.

He won't be able to negotiate with other teams and will get at least $9.8 million with the exclusive version. Asomugha didn't repeat his eight-pick performance from 2006 last year, but that was because opponents rarely tested the 26-year-old. Through the first 14 weeks, only 27 passes were thrown at the Raiders' left corner. Nine of the attempts were complete.

Al Davis ain't making a mistake again like he did with Moss.

Sorry folks you ain't getting him, at least not for some good compensation

"Ahh...we don't need no stinkin Africans!"*

*For those to young to get it, please see "The Treasure of Sierra Madre"

This will increase the bidders in the Asante Samuel sweepstakes, as the list of good free agent CB's seems more than short...

On a free agency related note, I heard the Broncos are thinking about cutting or trading Javon Walker. I don't think they would get much in trade though. Walker's injury history limits his overall value.

that would be an awesome pickup if you got him for nothing. I wonder if they outright released him if he learned his lesson and would come to the Pats if they wanted him.

Moss Welker and Walker would be a nasty combo

moss is worthless when unmotivated, it's definitely not the same situation.

why was he unmotivated? because he was losing and surrounded by bad personnel moves. I give a postive mark for Al Davis on this move

Offer Al a 3rd round pick for the kid. Then say "Al, it's even more than we gave you for Moss! You've just got to stop fleecing us like this."

Given some of the reports about Al's mental state, that just might do the trick.

This is hillarious, seriously though offer him nick kazur to sweeten the pot, say something along the line of jamarcus is more mobile than Brady therefore one thing he does well and a big reason you drafted him was that he can run good for a qb.
So it won't be a problem for him to run for his life will it Al?

NO to Javon Walker. I swear comments like yours make me wonder if you even pay attention to the NFL. Walker has been an attitude problem since before he left Green Bay. He continued to be a problem in Denver where they gave him money to be "THE MAN" and he was anything but.

Agree with Bruinz on this one this guy was a malcontent playing for Brett Favre, so he got traded to Denver where they gave him all the money in the world, and the Young guys outplayed him outright.
Rather have a guy like Marty Booker, who never had a worthy qb throwing to him continuously, or a deverly henderson who is explosive after the catch good on special teams, almost like a poor mans donte stallworth.

Walker was injured, but when he returned he was outplayed by their rookie. Not a Patriot ( and I haven't said that about many of our FA acquisitions, if any).

But wow, 9 completed passes against Asomugha through 14 weeks? thats pretty amazing.

NO on Devery Henderson. That guy has problems catching a cold, never mind the football. Seriously. On 42 targets this year, he caught 22 and he dropped 10 passes. People who were complaining about Watson's 4 would be having heart attacks over Henderson. Not to mention that Henderson disappears for weeks on end. I just don't see how he'd help the Patriots.

Do you think Henderson could improve being around veterans like, Moss, Welker, Brown and Brady, I mean are team attitude seems to be infectious on guys who had the talent but never displayed it on the field.

Even though I knew we wouldnt get Asomugha bc of the high probability of Oakland tagging him, I still kept praying for another one of those epic Oakland screw ups. I'm completely obsessed with this guy. He doesnt get any press or anything bc hes up with the raiders, but he and Cromartie are tied for best corners in the league, IMHO. This guy is a beast and there is no one else I'd rather have on the Pats at DB then this guy.

Yeah I never watch the NFL. What is that?

Now they said Randy had attitude issues. They said Cory did. Seriously. Have you not learned from the past? It's like...did you ever crack open a history book?

agreed
he's barely better than tony simmons

as for nnamdi...DAMNIT!

Attitude isn't going to improve his hands.. And, while Brees isn't Brady, he's still one of the top 7 QBs in the league.

With all the people who have complained about 1st Dan Graham's hands and more recently Ben Watson's hands, we'd have a lot of heart attacks happening over Henderson. I just don't see him being a benefit. I'd rather give Chad Jackson the reps.

Mr. Bigglesworth, I suggest you get yourself off the crack. With Dillon and Moss, both, their teammates came out and stuck up for them on numerous occasions. Please name just 1 Packer or Bronco who has stood up for Javon Walker and said he's misunderstood.

Sorry, but Walker is garbage. He's got the T.O. and Chad Johnson ego without the ability. No thanks.

Walker was clearly part of the problem in both Green Bay and Denver, not part of the solution.
