He was on WIP In Philadelphia today.
He said that no senate hearings are planned for Spygate.
He said he a lot of other items that he has to attend to in the Senate
He also said that Belicheck would be deposed under oath as a result of the lawsuit and therefore there was no need for hearings

Is Specter stupid enough to believe that those lawsuits will make it to court? Any judge with a shred of credibility will throw them out.

In other words, Patrick Leahy told Specter to go screw.

Odds of Belichick getting deposed in a lawsuit are still pretty remote. The Patriots should be able to get the new lawsuit dismissed pretty easily since the plantiff is suing off a rumor with no hard evidence to find cause. No judge is going to allow a lawsuit based on a rumor.

Hahahaha, he wishes. The lawsuits will get thrown out of court long before anyone testifies to anything under oath. Besides, even if Belichick went up and repeated everything that he's said to date under oath, everyone would just claim that he perjured himself anyways.

Maybe Florio is right on when he says "Other questions about Walsh should be asked. Such as, for example, how he found -- and how he can afford -- a Washington, D.C. lawyer who specializes in white-collar crime and government investigations. Could it be that Senator Specter hooked Walsh up with Michael Levy, and/or that Levy is handling the matter at no charge as a "favor" to the Senator?"

Patrick Leahy is the only one who can call Senate hearings. On February 8th, the Washington Post quoted him saying that he felt Specter was playing Eagles fan and that he had not received a request for a Senate hear and that he was not inclined to have them. Since then, Specter claimed that Leahy supported him furthering the investigatuion, but Leahy has not said anything else publically.
