How'd he know what the Panthers were calling on defense? As for communicating through headsets to a QB... doesn't every team do that?

Re: Gary Myers NY Daily News- Brady had a advantage against the Pathers

Michael Vick and Peta had 15 minutes of fame.

I bet there is at least one Pats article on this subject every Sunday from National Media.

Re: Gary Myers NY Daily News- Brady had a advantage against the Pathers

And if he did? Part of the Pats coaching staff's job is to break the defensive signals. Every single team tries to do it.

Since the Pats had not played carolina in years prior to that game, it wasn't taping that broke the code so what exactly is the complaint?

Can we just start suing the hell out of people?

OK. . . . let's assume that Brady did know what the D was calling. How the hell do you explain the outcome of the game, then? Last I checked, the Patriots didn't score until 3 minutes were left in the first half, and the Carolina D held them scoreless throughout the third quarter, too.

The title is VERY misleading.

Myers said that come Carolina sources has a "suspicion" that Brady could have had an advantage...

Thta is a lot different than making it appear in the title that Gary Myers directly accused the Patriots of this.

I suggest you cahnge the title

LOL. In an actual court of law, there would be no way to prove it gave an advantage. Our little Rams whiner should note that as well.

Re: Gary Myers NY Daily News- Brady had a advantage against the Pathers

Meyers never said that the Pats communicated signals to brady. He said there are suspicions in Carolina that he did. Here is the quote:

There is suspicion in Carolina that Tom Brady knew what was coming from the Panthers defense when he led the Patriots to the winning field goal in the final seconds in the Super Bowl four years ago. The feeling is the Patriots coaches were feeding him defensive alignments on his radio helmet that they learned from spy tapes. Specter has raised concerns that the Patriots used SpyGate tapes to help them in the 2004 playoffs against the two Pennsylvania teams — the Steelers in the AFC Championship Game and the Eagles in the Super Bowl.

http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/f...pecter_should_leave_spygate_issue.html?page=1

The problem with this theory is that the Pats didn't play the Panthers prior to the Super Bowl game since 2001. In 2001, the head coach of the Panthers was George Seifert and John Fox coached the 2003 Super Bowl team. When could the Pats have filmed these supposive spytapes? In 2001? Would Fox keep all of Seifert's signals?

So, in other words, Meyers is quoting a bunch of guys who have sour grapes, but no evidence other than "No way could Brady pickapart our defense like he did" mentality.

It is pathetic that Panthers players are making up this crap to justify their loss. It is also unprofessional of Meyers to print that when there is no evidence and the logic isn't there.

Let's just get an army of lawyers and sue the **** out of anyone and everyone.
I'm serious.

Re: Gary Myers NY Daily News- Brady had a advantage against the Pathers

It was only a matter of time til they made something up about SB 38. I mean all of our SB's are tainted, remember?

Re: Gary Myers NY Daily News- Brady had a advantage against the Pathers

LOL, man some reporters are lazy. And his anonymous source was just a jealous hater.

This is actually a story us Patriots fans should perpetuate as disinformation, just because it's so easy to disprove.

That's a good tactic in espionage. Put out a story that's easy to disprove.

You know, like the Rathergate incident, and many many others.

This is a prime example.

I Was made aware of an interesting comment by Dan LeBatard, the ESPN talk show host out of Miami who is also a columnist for the Miami Herald. In his Q&A forum in the Herald someone asks him the question below. The tail end of his response (in bold), which gets into the cheating of the Patriots mentions Doug Flutie and his alleged knowledge of it while he played there in the final year of his career in 2005. It's all hearsay I guess so take it for what it's worth.

Q: Doesn't Arlen Specter & the US Senate have more important concerns than how the NFL handles its disciplinary matters? Is this what they need all of that tax money for?

Pete, Lebanon, PA 2/01/08

A: Yes, but if congress is going to be involved in steroids it should be involved in this too....its the same crap....i'll never understand why people make the distinction between steroids and spygate....it is the same thing.....what do you hear with spygate? everyone does it. well, yeah, but same goes for steroids, right? we are now learning that EVERYONE DID IT....and yet steroids creates hysteria and everyone in football talks about spygate being overblown....they won three super bowls by three points...it wouldn't take much of an advantage to be a HUGE advantage....this story have been overcovered but underreported....i've heard second hand about doug flutie being amazed when he got there that the plays were being piped into his helmet warning brady what was coming.....we've tried to talk to flutie on our radio show about it but he hangs up on my producer.....

We all know that the Pats are meticulous. They break down film. They see what the situation is and what a team's tendencies are in those situations. They say, "hey Tom, watch for the MIKE to blitz through the a-gap here." Isn't that what teams SHOULD do?

Re: Gary Myers NY Daily News- Brady had a advantage against the Pathers

I don't see the story online.

Re: Gary Myers NY Daily News- Brady had a advantage against the Pathers

Brady did have an unfair advantage against the Panthers, he was better.
