"'It's important that these lawsuits get the truth out,' Mayer said by phone on Friday. 'Discovery is critical. It shows an appetite on the part of the public for honest, open competition.' His lawsuit names the Patriots and Belichick as defendants, too, and seeks $184 million in damages. Since filing the complaint, Mayer said he heard from several fans from other teams. He is interviewing them and amending the lawsuit, he said. 'People always focus on the dollar amount or damages,' Mayer said. 'But the damage done to all of these games is incalculable. Belichick keeps saying, 'It's behind us. It's over.' It's not behind us. It's not over. The issue of cheating in sports is a major, ongoing problem.'"

"He wasn’t a major player,” Campbell said of Gary. “He played special teams and was a substitute. But with a Super Bowl championship on his résumé, life would have been improved. And, at a minimum, he would have received a bigger bonus.”

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHA.

SVN you are obsessed with AllthingsBelichick.

I love the statement for the dollar amount not mattering. then why go for such an outrageous amount.

i have boycotted rest of the news/sports sites and channels so i go there hoping to read something +ve about the pats/BB. So far no dice. looks like i need to skip that as well.

Carl Mayer, a 48-year-old from Princeton, N.J., and an avid Jets fan, filed a lawsuit in New Jersey alleging the Patriots’ filming “violated the integrity of the game.”

HAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHaaaaa...thats it, im filing a lawsuit against the jets for "violating my time...wasting 3 hours of my life and having to look at mangina twice a season" for $120 billion, filing a lawsuit against arlen spector for his stupidity "violating my mental state" for 1 Kazillion $, and Tomase for being a fat sh!t and "violating my eyesight" for 2 Kazillion $$. A jets fan WOULD sue a team for $187 million for "violating the integrity of the game." Get real. I'm over this.

I haven't watched ESPN in a couple weeks or foxsportsnet

This article says nothing new...just kinda funny the way its written up. :)

It is so ridiculous that this enters court. We should sue this guy for wasting taxpayers dollars

yep absolutely...might as well sue the nfl and goodell too for causing all us pats fans UNDUE mental stress and anguish.

same here. i prolly will ignore ESPN for a while.

Ive already boycotted espn and nfl network...my favorite was rich eisen from NFL total access saying that losing the superbowl blew the chance for the Patriots to show the world that they can win one without cheating....ummmmm. is it just me or is there STILL no proof we won a SB by cheating?

I also like the fact that the article talks about the cases going to "discovery." (For that matter, does a "contract" really exist between the SB attendees and the participants? And doesn't the fact that--according to the Rams--the information the Pats allegedly may have taped played no material role in their loss make a difference?)

At this point, what evidence is left to discover? All the hard evidence, whatever it might have been, is already gone--by order of the NFL, not the Patriots.

Here's an interesting question, though--let's say for the sake of argument, someone decides to subpoena Tomase to find out the source of his little rumor. Do you think Tomase would bravely face contempt to hide his "source," or would he squeal like a little piggy?

Looks like a pig, walks like a pig, talks like a pig...squeals like a pig=is a pig. Def. would squeal. Hes a traitor.

I'm wondering if I can file a lawsuit...?

Suing Tomasse for taking away my enjoyment of the game?:D

Absolutely...you can keep me company while I file my $279 million dollar lawsuit against mangina.

Anyone else think this Gary guy is possibly a plant for Spector or the league to get this in court, get Walsh talking, possibly depose BB, etc etc?

Well, if these asinine lawsuits can get tons of press coverage, I don't know what's stopping Pats fans from suing Arlen Specter and Matt Walsh for the Superbowl loss. Particularly the ones who went.....for your money back.

Exactly how will a lawsuit that will go nowhere shed light on the actions of the Patriots? Last time I checked, you can't sue a person or company based on a rumor. Before they will even start the discovery process, Kraft's lawyers should easily get this lawsuit thrown out of court.

Yup ... and why we are not seeing panic at Gillette.
