I would suggest intersted folks contact Senator Leahy of VT, who is allegedly going to continue the Spygate investigation:

[email protected]
202-224-4242

Be polite, be mature - but you might want to make mention of why this is more imprtant than say the sub prime mortgage crisis, the federal budget defecit, why our sons and daughters are dying in Iraq, etc. Perhaps any Vermont constituents might want to also voice their opinion.

Good idea Mike ... working on it now.

I would send a letter not call or e-mail as it's harder to ignore a letter snail mail than an e-mail (easy to delete) or a call...I also wrote Kennedy..Whiyehouse and am thinking of some of teh Republicans possibly...someone to stir up trouble against the leadershiip...I also heard that a FEW other senators are going along with this..who???

Edit: The Senate/Congress members discourage snail mail because all the letters have to be checked for anthrax. The phone or fax are probably the most effective, IMHO

Just wondering who of the others might respond?? Think for themselves with this?? Instead of falling in line??

Now that Specter is openly threatening the NFL anti-trust exemption, it takes this to another level that concerns the whole league. The connections that NFL owners have are pretty extensive with the networks and the corporations(G.E., Disney, NewsCorp) that own them, not to mention the Hunts(KC) and Jerry Jones ties to the oil industry to name just a few.

The Senators also have to weigh the possible backlash of them acting on this, and not the other huge problems facing the country.

If all the fans here take the time to do a cut and paste to the members it may have an impact, I know they receive a lot of email.. but I really believe that if the board members hear from enough of us on this matter, it may make a difference.

I am writing letters...snail mail..always easier to delete an e-mail than rip up a letter...calls as well....But I wonder about ones like Brownback of kansas...Hatch of Utah..Or of ones like Feinstein of CA or Biden of Delaware....It;s not just party lines on this...Leahy is friends with Spector....he MAY be just going along with this...

It's hard to say because this isn't a typical political issue where they are more predictable. Sadly, it may come down to what corporate (political donor)interests they might have in this fight.

I know...which is why it might be interesting to see who immediately backs Spector and who does not...but if there is an independent voice.. Democrat..Republican..against the leadership..must be encouraged. Which is why I am writing to a number of them..both parties..

Bump Ten Characters

I've sent off 7 letters snail mail...which I think is better..but will also calls Tuesday..etc etc see what comes out..

I want a FULL investigation of all of these practices in teh NFL..not just video..open teh door and let there be a full one..I WANT that...not afraid of it at all..not what many want though..the NFL would NOT be happy with a FULL investigation...

A "full investigation" will only open the door for more crap. The NFL said that they did a full investigation - that's enough. We don't need taxpayers money wasted witch hunt by a US Senator that has an ax to grind. I think that the senate may have better things to do.
