I know this is a football board but now in the national spotlight we have Calvin Samson violating league recruting rules and no one has stepped up and labeld him a cheater yet. I see no difference between what he did and what the Pats did. How long will it take or will it ever happen? Stupid Indiana fans getting some of their own medicine!

Also, he is a coach at a state school. State money helping to fund the athletic department...taxpayers money.

Don't you know? People from Indiana don't cheat. Never.

Of course Sampson is a cheater. He deliberately broke the rules regarding his sanctions from prior cheating. Are you sure you want to equate the Pats taping with Sampson's behavior?

Yes, he should be labeled a cheater! All you have to mention to me is Samson, Eric Gordon and all the shenanigans with that...

There is a big difference to what he did and the Pats did. His is way worse!

Trust me, Kelvin Sampson has been labeled a cheater. I don't know what the reaction is up there, but here in Indy they are calling for his head. He is getting absolutely crushed by the local media and even the fans inside Assembly Hall (IU's gym). IMO, he won't be employed by IU after next Tuesday.

Its not about what was done necessarily but that both things supossedly were used "to gain an advantage". So I guess to answer your question, yes.

Yes kelvin Sampson is a cheater and i hope IU cans him he did this kind of thing before and like they say a leopard doesn't change his spots. And yes here in Indy people want him gone right now.

I hear Bobby Knight is free these days!

I would not say worse but close all sampson did was made a phone call. But it is against the rules and so he should be fired period.

You know the sad thing about knight is all his students graduate and do a good job he just has a really bad temper. If he would have chilled out he would still be in bloomington.

Even though I coach basketball here and live here in Indiana, I am not a fan of Hoosier basketball. I do feel the sentiment here that people want Samson gone. Its only a matter of time. Some other school will hire him. Unlike Pats fans and Belichick, the people of Indiana have no real alleigance to him

The difference is that Sampson was on zero tolerance after years of cheating at Oklahoma, IU gave him a second chance but with a loud and clear warning.

He blew that second chance. He doesn't get a third.

In a sense I think Kraft has Belichick on zero tolerance. He was ticked off in September. This is Bill's second chance. Any new stuff that happens or happened after September 2007 could have Kraft canning him, like IU is canning Sampson.

should be interesting the next few days

I live south of Bloomington and, trust me, he's not catching any breaks down here, either. Nor should he.

I was 9 years old when Keith Smart hit that corner jump shot to beat Rony Seikaly and Syracuse and win the 1987 National Championship, and I've been a diehard Hoosier fan ever since. From Jay Edwards to Eric Gordon, Bob Knight to Kelvin Sampson, I've rooted for my Hoosiers through thick and thin.

And I can say, without hesitation or qualification, that, IMO, Kelvin Sanction must be fired, immediately. And the AD, Alan Greenspan, should go right along with him. They have brought shame to a university that hasn't even had an ALLEGATION of impropriety in ANY sport since the 60's and they must pay the price. I don't care if IU has 15 straight losing seasons as a result, Sampson HAS TO GO.

The general consensus around here is that he'll be gone by the end of this week and either Dan Dakich or Ray Mcallum will finish out the season. Both have been head coaches before.

I hope that is what happens, I really do.
