Last year started quickly. How would feel if these were the first week signings?

Paxton
Seau
Gaffney
Law
Zack Thomas

How old are we going to make the defense?

No way on law

I'd want Law back to play Saftey and Part time Corner. He is no longer a full time CB and needs to make the transition this season. If he does, we could get another 2 solid season out of him IMO.

Can we throw Moss in?

That would be one hell of a first week.

Although I don't want Law as a starter...

We need to freshen up our defense...but I hope Bruschi, Seau, and harrison come back, at least, with some newnew newcomers...
btw, on an unrelated note, mgteich, you replied to my thread, and i was gonna reply to you...it just dissappeard, can you still see it?

How much you want to bet that NONE of them are signed the first week?

We have SPANN, RICHARDSON, MIXON and Law isn't good enough to play corner for the patriots? Please be serious!

Law will play where he's needed. The current players on the roster to play opposite Hobbs are Spann, Richardson and Mixon. We need a starter, a nickel, a dime/backup. Law is certainly able to win one of the spots against these guys, our draftess and jags brought in. And if Gay is re-signed, I would start Law in a heartbeat. Can anyone say my man T-Y-L-A-W. He could shift to safety, but as of now, we need him at corner.

With regard to youngsters, we brought in only Meriweather last year, and were one play away from winning the SB. As a practical matter, we will in plenty of youth this year. Day one of the draft is not the time. We'll have youth at CB. It is certainly reasonable to me to have one seasoned veteran CB on the squad, a seasoned veterans with a couple of years left in him. And it really does help me (and other fans) that his name might be Ty Law.

That would be one hell of a first week.

I see that pats1 deleted your thread. I don't know why.

My post is not a prediction, just a question, and a hope. I certainly hope that Seau(or Bruschi) and Paxton re-sign quickly.

That would be just fine...I don't think Law is at all too old for a CB...sometimes one may be a bit slower and yet with skills and vet knowledge, better. Good additions..

I was just saying in a perfect world I would prefer Ty Law to be a 3rd CB. I realize he is an upgrade for right now. But who knows once the season starts.

Yes, in a perfect world, Law would be #3 with plenty of reps.

Just BTW, I don't know anyone that we have a chance of signing in free agency or see anyone in the draft that is likely to start over Law. So while it is theoretically possible for Law to be signed and be the #3, I don't see how that would happen.

My first thread? THAT'S a great start...

It was for your own good. I read through it all and saw the PowerPoint. Believe me, the vultures here would swoop down and take you to the cleaners.

If they re-signed both Samuel and Gay, Law would most likely be in competition for the #3 job with Gay. Frankly, in 15 games out of the season, Gay might end up ahead of him. Naturally, Law would have to start against the Colts. ;)

Paxton is the most important resigning of the group......nevah having to worry about a bad snap is huge.

The man is money, every time.
