Seeing The Patriots In A Different Light

That article sums it up, only a victory in Tampa will make this pain go away..

They're going 19-0. It is the only shot at redemption for eveything that has gone on since September.

We tried the perfection thing...didnt work out so well, it was a huge burden, im sure, to the players and the organization how about we just go for 13 and 3 and a SB win next year. lol:)

The Patriots had a chance at a real unique NFL legacy and simply blew it.

"The best thing that could happen to the Patriots in 2008 would be for them to lose, and lose early."

Another lousy column by Bob George, the wannabe sportswriter.
Note to Bob: Hang it up now.
Note to Ian: Why is this guy's drivel attached to this web site?

Teams and people can't handle the 24-7 media attention especially when the media FORCES players and coach to talk to the media or they get fined.

I've been saying this:

The best thing that could happen to the Patriots in 2008 would be for them to lose, and lose early. Not a lot of losses, of course, but maybe one or two losses to keep them in contention for a playoff bye. Then the Patriots could focus only on winning the Super Bowl and not going for perfection. It was a cruel lesson for all to learn, that a Super Bowl win will always be more important than trying to become the first 19-0 team in NFL history.

I want a SB Victory

Remember folks, losing games in the regular season directly effects the play of your offensive line in the Super bowl!

Teams and people can handle it just fine. One game had an excellent gameplan against them. The Pats would have lost the SB playing the way they did if there record was 17-1 or 11-7.

Being 18-0 had nothing to do with the Giants running past the OL like they were traffic cones.

This is ridiculous. Next season I'm not looking for them to lose. Win early, win often, win late, win all....IF they end up being 18-0 goin into the superbowl once again I'm not going to sit there and start regretting that they won all their games.

I think 3 superbowl wins in the next...3 years...would redeem us as much as a 19-0 season next year lol
nope, 13-3 sounds good, you know, we played so much better as "under the radar" or underdogs...thats when we do good...like when a lot of people thought we were gonna do bad against the colts? boom. like what rodney harrison kept saying in the playoffs and superbowls in the past years, "they never thought we could do it"
19-0 gets us too much attention.

I'm still not buyng the "we need to lose" idea.

So you want 13-3? Which three do you think they should try and lose so I'll know not to bother watching those games?

i want a superbowl win, even if we go 9-7 and scape a wild card and go all the way to win the superbowl, then i think the media and other fools of the spygate circus will leave us alone

The road to Tampa will be tougher next year. I don't think we'll be as dominant in the season as we were this year. We can still get there but let's face it ... the good teams in the AFC will be stronger also ... we won't have the same chance that we had this year.

This is now the third year in a row the Patriots suffered a playoff loss where a win was expected (yes, even three years ago in Denver, many experts figured the Patriots would win). The "magical" days of the Patriots could very well be a thing of the past.

People were looking at Bill Parcells differently because he never won a Super Bowl without Belichick. Now, Belichick has not won a Super Bowl without Charlie Weis and Romeo Crennel.

I wonder if there is some truth to this. In the past they were able to make the biggest plays in the biggest games.

I don't care if the team goes 19-0 or 13-3 or whatever, as long as they win the Super Bowl.

Would I be complaining if they are 18-0 going into the final game? No. Obviously, you want to see your team win every game they play, and the mind boggling thing is that this appears possible with the Patriots.

At the same time, would I regret a 14-2 or 13-3 record coming into the Super Bowl? No. As a fan, I want to see them win the Super Bowl in a bad way. Doesn't particularly matter how they get there, as long as they do.

I said 13-3 cuz someone else said it. It doesnt matter, as long as we win the superbowl...sometimes i feel 14-2, sometimes i feel 16-0, its different

Geez, I though you were being a tad harsh, so against my better judgement I broke my own now longstanding rule about reading these things...

:violent:

Damn you tune.

You were warned.
As far as I'm concerned: Never again, unless I purposefully want to get angry.
Bob George's thought patterns make me embarrassed that the English language exists for him to express them in writing I can read. If only he were born in Russia, or Spain. Sadly, Bob isn't even smart enough to be considered a mediot. We all should've taken the obvious cue when he wrote how much he'd admired the work of Ron Borges.
