On sirius radio Zack was asked what he thought about being a Patriot next season and he goes on to say it all in the miami papers but nothing is going on with that rumor.

He then goes on to say that he and Izzo are good friends and if he came to New England and Bruschi had retired he would not take #54 as he says Bruschi is an icon in New England and he would not want to take his number for respect and joked with Izzo that his #53 would be more likely his choice.

Already sounds like Patriots material to me,All about whats good for the team and not himself, gotta like the guy.

But its all here say for now - lets see if NE strikes early in the 2008 FA period....and I dont mean signing guys like TJ Slaughter

lol he was asked if he would take the number 54 if bruschi retired he did not say that he thinks he will retire

But he knows how to play football at a top level....I would be concerned with his injuries of course..but platooning inside with younger/older players would not at all be bad. Again..if the injuries were not a problem..

He is 5'11 228lbs, 34 Years old and has a Concussion problem.
I hope they don't sign him.

The Huskers are ***gots.

No offense, of course. I just hate that state and the infatuation they have with the frigging Huskers.

lb by committee, i have no problem with that.

In there for less snaps. Freasher and more focused if they are less exhausted.

It all comes down to health weather zach or morgan are signed.

This raises the question-

Do the Patriots retire Bruschi's #54?

It would be really weird to see somebody else with it.

He'd likely be a Phifer-esque cover linebacker, though he has played in a two-gap 3-4 before (which Saban implemented). It sounds like he's seriously contemplating coming to Foxboro. I can't imagine Belichick and co. not wanting him.

I agree with that ....#54 is golden.

No, no more retiring numbers ever please.

Seriously... somebody from New Jersey dissing another state? Settle down there and look around.

I wouldn't mind seeing Z Thomas in a Pats uniform....

While I love how Zach Thomas plays, he is 4-3 ILB. This guy has concussion problem and is one concussion away from retiring for good. I would much rather have Jason Taylor(wishful thinking...).

To good to be true to me. Will BB have a guy like that? I'll tell you one thing, he'd be better at pass coverage then anyone. I think he and Adalius would make a hell of a tandem. But does Bill have such a small guy on the D? I'd love for it to happen. Also, he played a few years in the 3-4 and was a friggin playmaker.

I hope someone else gets him ... we need to get younger.

The Pats could sign Thomas tomorrow if they wanted because he was CUT. Only free agents whose contracts run out have to wait until the beginning of March to sign with teams.

I agree. Even though Seau has played great, the LBs have to get younger. They can't keep this up forever, and they have to look to the future to have another SB run while Brady is still in his prime.

I'd love to bring in Thomas if it was a low cost, low risk deal. I'm not really sure what his market is going to be like. If there's competition for his services, I think you can count the Pats out.
