Mr Belichick and Mr Kraft I realize that the both you want to leave all of this spygate business in the past but I believe the time has come to take your heads out of the sand and stand up to Goodell, Spector, Dungy and anyone else who wants to use the Patriot's transgression as a reason to tarnish all of their achievements over the past 7 years. Yes they were caught videotaping and they were punished severly and have paid their debt to the league.
The Krafts have taken a laughing stock of a football team and transformed it into the 21st century sports team model. If this organization is clean as I hope, I believe it is time time go to war. It is time to start throwing your weight around demand to find out who is lying Goodell or Spector, Goodell is on record saying that there wasn't any competitive advantage gained from the tapes however after their meeting Sen Spector came out and said the exact opposite whose lying? While you are at it will they might want to explain to the so-called experts that the rule violated was not on the books prior to 2005, with their last SB coming in '04 we shouldn't have to do the math for people. They have paid their debt to the league now it is time time fight for thier reputation. They cannot allow people with power whether it be with pen, microphone or unbelievably, Senatorial position missuse their power on jealous vengeful unwarrented attacks. Once again as a proud member of Patriot Nation I implore you Mr Kraft and Mr. Belichick to stand up and fight back, if the Patrios are clean this a winable fight.

I dont think there is a fight.
It was addressed in September, the league concluded its action, and the incident is past.
Why would the Patriots go on the offensive to argue about something that is over and done, just because publicity hounds want to dredge it back up?

At this point, I'll admit, I do wish Belichick would just come out and expose every other team in the league for doing the same damn thing, just to shut everyone up. At this point it would just be evening the score.

First rule of holes. When you find yourself in one, stop digging.

The only thing keeping this situation alive is the influx of new sound bites. Having anyone from the Patriots say anything only keeps the whole ordeal alive for another news cycle.

Senator Spector is way out of line. One of his peers in the senate should reel him in.

See: Roger Clemens

The Patriots and even Roger Goddell doesn't have to answer to Spector. He has no authority over the situation. The Patriots didn't not commit a crime. Therefore, both the Patriots and Goddell can tell Spector to **** off. I can't remember if Spector went public before or after the superbowl about meeting with Tom Brady over whether he benefited from those video tapes. I wish I were Tom Brady and tell the media that Spector can kiss my ass!

That would be badass! I think that would have a very good chance of making up for that superbowl loss. I think Goddell is trying hard to put an end to this spygate because of your theory. Unfortunately, Goddell made an example out of Belicheck to warn the league he is serious and all teams must stop video taping. Not just the Patriots. And if Spector keeps pushing this and irritating the Pats organization, Belicheck may expose many other coaches he had worked with.

reasonable people are the ones to be concerned with in this case. NOT the droves of message board idiots roaming the country and hating on New England. Dont allow those fools to cloud your thinking. they'd go on theorizing about how and why ALL of NE's achievements are tainted no matter what actual evidence does or doesnt surface. This mysterious Rams walkthrough tape can in reality NEVER surface, and to the vast majority of INTERNET knuckleheads hell bent on tainting this organization will go on doing what their tiny little jealous minds are forcing them to do. just dont confuse these morons for the reasonable, logical people that you should actually be concerned with. any with a mind knows that many many teams do what the Pats have done, and the games are nonetheless still won on the field by players with blood, sweat and tears. Anyone who needs more 'evidence' just needs to examine NE's 18 straight wins this year AFTER the hammer was dropped. the chips will fall in time. just be patient.

BB will probably never do this. he'll stand on this little island for as long as he's forced to. I dont see BB exposing any other coaches ever. period. many people have no understanding of that kind of loyalty to his fellow coaches. certainly mangini never understood it.

Belichick's silence is why Spygate continues

When are the Kraft's going to intercede and start to address this matter publicy? Much of the suspicion about this whole nonsense remains because Bill Belichick has never publicy looked anyone in the eye and explained himself regarding the taping of the Jet game. ALL OF THIS is on Bill Belichick and his mishandling of this incident (re: a complete lack of public explanantion) and it's what has created the void which PR seeking Comcast poodle Arlen Specter now seeks to fill. While BB is a great coach I am growing tired of his KGB style secrecy and behavior.

Re: Belichick's silence is why Spygate continues

Actually I think it would be the opposite. I think if Belichick talks his words can easily be misconstrued by a scandal hungry press and would ultimately hurt him.

Keeping his mouth shut is probably the best option for now.

Re: Belichick's silence is why Spygate continues

i suspect there's alot of things we dont know about. behind the scene things with GODell, kraft, and b.b., and i think b.b. is keeping quiet for a reason. i just wish i knew what it was.....bill, please write a tell all book;)

Re: Belichick's silence is why Spygate continues

Oh, sure, if BB talks it will ALLLLLLL go away.

Don't be naive.

ill assume your not talking to me. i never said it'll all go away. i doubt it ever will. damage is done. but id still love to know whats going on behind the scenes.

Re: Belichick's silence is why Spygate continues

And here I thought it was the 500 threads that kept this going.

So would I. But even if he talks, it won't be behind the scenes stuff. It'll be carefully prepared and thought out.

I was just addressing the notion that if BB starts talking, the story will somehow end. I definitely don't believe that's true.

Re: Belichick's silence is why Spygate continues

What else do you want to know about Spygate? What do you want BB to say? You know why he and the Pats were punished. Hell, you even know what the tapes contained and when he started taping.

What more do you want?

Re: Belichick's silence is why Spygate continues

Only negative could come from speaking on the subject. Anything positive will just be discounted as self-serving. Even if he accused all the other teams of doing it, unless he had clear video evidence, it will be totally discounted. There is really nothing he could say to make people change their minds.

You want it to stop? Write your senator, especially if you live in VT, and demand that they stop wasting your tax dollars investigating it.
