From a small rumor i heard floating around that Parcells really likes this kid and so does Belichick.

Would seem to make sense since Al Groh was a branch of the Parcells tree.

As of right now Dolphins will take Long.

Why wouldn't the Patriots love a top 3-5 talent at #7? I seriously doubt he'll be there, but if he was, I think the Patriots would take him in a second.

While highly relevant the Dolphins like him, at this point it's almost irrelevant the Pats do, unless the Pats show a willingness to trade up (and probably give up their 2nd round pick), which I don't see.

It could also be a smoke and mirrors show that the Dolphins are creating. Of course Parcells would know that C. Long would fill a huge need on the Pats. Let's try and see if we can make them give something up for him, has to be the Dolphins MO. BB won't bite (I don't think he will). Also, 30 other teams must be interested in C. Long as well. Nothing new.

I do not think Parcells knows who specifically he is going to draft, if he drafts at #1 right now. He has to continue to trim the fat, clear up cap space and then sign FA's when that window opens.

However I do think Parcell's has a list of potential #1 candidates and will focus heavily on them for the next 2 plus months.

Parcells knows that he needs a draft day "HOME RUN" with the #1 over-all pick. Especially after Cameron and Company messed up last year's pick so badly.
