"Specter, the ranking Republican member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, discovered the New England practice of illegal taping had evidently gone on for years and told Goodell there was potential for further Congressional investigation. 'There was confirmation that there has been taping since 2000, when Coach [Bill] Belichick took over,' Specter said of the meeting. 'The explanation given as to the destruction of the tapes and the notes is completely invalid. There was an enormous amount of haste.' In particular, Specter cited notes and tapes the Patriots had on the Pittsburgh Steelers in two games during the 2004 season. The Steelers defeated the Patriots, 34-20, on Oct. 31, sacking Tom Brady four times and intercepting two of his passes. But when the teams met again in the AFC championship on Jan. 27, 2005, the Patriots routed the 16-1 Steelers, 41-27, with Brady sacked twice with no interceptions. 'The commissioner sought to downplay the issue about the utility, but from information we've received, there was opportunity for the signal to be transmitted to the quarterbacks so they could utilize these signals that they taped in violation of NFL rules,' Specter said. 'I found a lot of questions unanswerable because of the tapes and notes had been destroyed.'"
spector has gone nuts.and la times does its part of ommiting
i have said this before. Why doesnt any of these media hacks call brady a fraud if they think all this is true .why is he considered a great QB if all he did was play after knowing the signals what was called. its just BB , nothing else really.

Re: Where do they get these ideas from ?

And if it was such a big deal, why did he have the greatest single season ever by a quarterback in the year in which they had to stop taping signals??

Furthermore - why doesn't anyone ask the most obvious question - if taping signals are so effective, then why didn't Drew Bledsoe and the Patriots have the same success that Brady and the Patriots have? The variable here isn't taping, it's Brady. Therefore, taping had nothing to do with the Pats success.

Honestly, I think BB mainly tapes so that other teams will be aware of it and be forced to be cognizant of it. Why else a) hire an intern to do the job b) do it wide open in plain view, to the point where the opposing coach would wave at the camera??

Goodell, through his stunning ineptitude, is allowing Specter and others to crap all over the nfl. He is a toad.

:rofl::rofl::rofl:

it's now gotten to the point where I can't even distinguish what's real and what's an onion article or a daily show skit.

I can't believe our government has been taken over by the people who call in to sports radio shows:confused:

Watch next time we play in Pittsburgh, Light or Mankins or Koppen will get arrested at 1/2 time...

for Holding.
