If beli and co where infact taping teams dating all the way back since Beli started to coach this team , our sb's are tainted. Now I know this is hard to accept. I know that a lot of people do it. But until another team is busted for the same thing , or some type of real proof comes out that this was a leauge wide issue , we are going to be looked at as cheats. Nothing will change that.

Frankly I would be a bit mad with Belichick for not keeping this whole thing under control.This is a big if of course. This whole thing could go away tommorow. But let's face the facts people , we will be called tainted cheats forever if Spectors allegations are proven true.


I would be ashamed. If this was the colts who did this you would all be screaming cheaters at every chance. This is a tough pill to swallow. I have been a season ticket holder for a long time. I love the pat's. Just calling it like it is. All the excuse makers and homer's will freak out over this post. But you all know you are scared as hell for these latest allegations to be proven true. The pats will never live this down.

How so? How did that information give us an advantage? I've heard a lot of speculation but how was the outcome of any game affected? What I find is that people who say things like "it's a fact", don't have a single fact to support their position so if you do, you will be the first one. It does matter whether there was an advantage. Speculation doesn't count.

I think you're overstating things until we get an idea of exactly how big of a practice this was. If this was as common as some think, does it really taint anything? Of course not.

I also think you care about what everyone else thinks, I don't personally.

I'm not scared, not completely a homer, and you should find a new team to root for if you are that embarrassed or scared about what the "Magic Bullet" man has to say. Seriously, suck it up and move on......there are 31 other teams to root for. Pick one and have a nice day.

Did this help us in 2000? Did this help us in 2002? Did the team crumble in 2007 without a camera?

Hell, if we were taping the first SB against the Rams to use later in the game, we did a pretty bad job because we almost blew a 14-3 lead at halftime.

We are being targeted because we are contending for a Super Bowl every year. If you cant beat them on the field beat them off of it AKA NAPOLIAN. Only now it's on a larger scale so hopefully they can take the pats down in a non competitive way. You have to be naive not to see this as well.

But for the sake of the argument lets assume you are right. If you were a coach of another team and you knew that you signals got stolen the first game why wouldn't you change them the second game? Like Parcells said if you knew they stole you signals and you didnt change them you deserved to lose.

I dont condone any of this and right now it's all speculation NOT proof, I repeat speculation NOT proof.

I could get into the debate with all kinds of back up to that statement, but Parcells says it all, if you don't change your signals in the playoffs, when everyone has tape on you, and basically anyone watching the broadcast of the game can see 3 guys standing on the sideline calling in plays, and Tivo it if they wanted to, you pretty much bring it on yourself to lose. Plus, you still have to execute on the field.

Nothing is tainted. We had a 9-7 season when we apparently were taping, and 18-1 when we weren't. It can't have been helping too much.

I commend the original poster for what he said. Just because you don't approve of something your team does doesn't make you a fair-weather fan. If any of you approved of every little thing the team did, I'd be very surprised and a little suspicious.

Why? Because similar idiotic posts have been made since September. All your concerns have been asked and answered. Many teams have already admitted doing it and the NFL said who cares? How many times do we have to post Clayton's article from last year (2006) when the Dolphins were laughing about it? How many times does the NFL have to say, "That's football?"

It doesn't make you a fairweather fan, it just makes you lazy or lacking logic for not following along with the details of the story.

Kind of like all the fairweather Penn State fans who jumped on Paterno for Rashard Casey, and in the end, Paterno and Casey were vindicated.

Those of us who understand what's actually happened simply realize that your argument is nonsense. In fact, the NFL's clearing of the Jets for filming the Patriots, when the Jets admitted to doing it, is ample proof of that. Like real estate, this issue is about "location, location, location"; that's it. Now, you have yourself a nice day.

I approve of everything the Pats have done since Belichick got here. Why? Because I'm not an idiot. You have to do crap like this to win in the NFL, and that's why everyone does it. The organization couldn't have anticipated that Goodell would completely blow it the way he did, rather than actually managing the situation with a bit of professionalism.

This is exactly right. Bill Arnsparger, when he was an assistant with the Giants, complained to George Young about the Giants playing on the sunny side of the field in view of the NFL cameras, which would allow the opposition to steal their signals. Young had the Giants on what is typically the visitor's side because the owner Mara liked to hang out on the sidelines, and he was an old man, and Young didn't want him in the shadows. When Arnsparger complained, Young said, "Then change your "$%^#^@$ signals. Do your job."

When the Dolphins stole the Patriots signals off a tape in 2006, the Patriots shrugged it off. For once the NFL was right. It responded, "That's football."

To this day, there's no rule against stealing signals in the NFL manual. Why? Because it would be impossible to legislate.
