Ripping Arlen a new one on how he doesn't mind the destruction of CIA torture tapes, but is filled with outrage about "Spygate." Very brief segment, but I'm sure Com Central will have it available.

hahahahahahahaha!!!
awesome.

specter is such a dirty sack of garbage.

i just watched it. hilarious.

I really think from a national standpoint, this is going to blow up in Specter's face. In PA, he might get the backing of his constituates. But I think the rest of the country sees this guy as a crazy old coot who is wasting his and the taxpayers time and money on something trival.

For anyone else who missed, the repeat will be on @ 1:00am eastern time tonight.

Holy crap, Jon Stewart made fun a of a politician with an "R" after his name? Stop the presses!

Regardless of D or R this guy deserves to be made fun of for this.

It was absolutely hilarious. That's why these guys need writers, haha.

BTW, Howard Stern blasted Specter today on the radio too. Granted he was being self-serving blasting Specter for wasting his time on something unimportant as Spygate when the Sirius/XM merger is still not approved by the government.

And at the same time added a left-handed swipe at our country for "torturing" terrorists. What a shock.

No argument there. Just putting out a warning to consider the source - Stewart's "let's make a joke about this" alarm goes off whenever a Republican (even a RINO like Specter) does something dumb.

LOL so true. I'm not an R myself but, Stewart is so far left and arrogant I can't say I think much more of him than Specter. And that's not much.

Same here. I'm an Independent who thinks little of both major parties, but Stewart's bias makes the show unwatchable. When he was somewhat more balanced (think pre-Iraq war), the program definitely had its moments; but as it stands now, it's groan-inducing.

The show is intended to make people laugh and the war in Iraq (or rather the way this administration has handled the "publicity" relating to the war) is prime fodder. Stewart's in the business of making laughs and does so whether the butts of the jokes are Democrats or Republicans.

I'm surprised it hasn't made it to youtube yet. I'd expect to find it there today though.

I love the Spector comments

but what is wrong with torturing terrorists?

Dude, I don't want this to get dragged to the political forum, but come on. Have you ever checked what channel Stewart is on? COMEDY Central. It is a comedy show, 100% of the intent is laughs. Anyone going there for cogent analysis or expecting journalistic credibility is off their rocker.

For the record, The Daily Show is primarily media satire, rather than political satire. (Not to say that politics doesn't play a role, but it's not the "main point," so to speak.)

So what? he made a good point. Specter is an idiot, and Stewart is calling him on it. The only reason that the party matters is because it makes it even funnier, since Republicans are supposed to be about small government,
