ASS.. He wont let this thing die.. Its a shame that its gotten this far, and had to be brought up during one of the best weeks when your team is in the super bowl.. I suggest all Pats fans, bombard him with letters emails and do what it takes to let him know, not just because we are Pats fans and he is making a mockery of the whole Patriots dynasty.. But he is trying to put football on the same stage with that joke baseball and Clemens.. He was near my neighborhood on Monday, but did not know about it .. Would have loved to give it to him personally what I feel.. He is a old fart that just wont give this up, even though Godell said to drop it..

The thing is , and I haven't seen this mentioned explicitely in the media; but he's really calling Goodell a liar, and calling into question Goodell's ethics.

If I was Goodell, I'd be absoletely pissed.
Its one thing to call the Patriots cheaters for videotaping (although even thats overdoign it); its another thing to accuse the NFL Commissioner of being an immorral, unethical liar

And of course, Spector is admitting to being an uneducated homer eagles fan. The patriots did nothing that was against the US law. They did something that was against the NFL rules starting last season. It was not against the rules against the eagles in the superbowl, and it was not against the law, so his whole reason for being angry has no justification.

I see stories in the Globe and Herald headlined "Patriots Taping Since 2000, according to Specter." Nowhere in the stories does it say it wasn't against the rules. I guess I'm being naive to expect that the sports reporters for those papers would point that out.

He was asked this and he said that this clearly falls into the category of theft of trade secrets, which is against federal law. laughed my a** off, out loud....seriously...had a picture in my head of federal agents running out on a baseball field during a game and cuffing a runner at second base for stealing the catcher signals

If Specter actually said that, then he's even stupider than I thought. How can something that is acted out in an arena, surrounded by thousands of witnesses, taped by the organization, and broadcast to millions of viewers be 'secret' in any way?

Not only that "competitive intelligence" is a real and huge practice around the world where corporations spy on their competitors all of the time! Yet I haven't seen one prosecuted publicly.

I've emailed Specter and Kennedy so far- Specter was probably a waste of time, because his comment form bounces your response if you're not from PA, and he's probably too crazy to listen to reason anyway.

But I think if the NE senators get enough emails from their constituents, they might just listen. Everyone knows half the reason Specter's doing this is because he thinks he'll win the support of Eagles and Steelers fans who are still bitter about losing to the Pats. Well, there are plenty of us Pats fans, we're pretty f'ing pissed at this point, and we have 6 times as many senators as they do. So let's do something about this.

Those are probably the main reasons... but if he were just trying to screw the NFL, there's no reason to investigate only the Patriots. He could hurt the NFL far more by pulling a Mitchell report and trying to embarrass the entire league. So I firmly believe his feelings specifically towards the Pats have a lot to do with his actions.

Comcast is always calling trying to get me to switch to them. I absolutely RELISH those phone calls. They haven't called lately...I can't wait until they do.
