OK, that pumps me up a bit.

THAT is good news....

sweet. rodney down; bruschi and seau to go.

I hope one of those guys do go. I'm sorry, I love and appreciate what they've done, but if those guys are once again 2 of the Pats top 4 or 5 LBs again next year, I will not be feeling too comfortable.

The time has come to add some young talent on defense. I'm

hoping they pick a young linebacker early in the draft but I am not

counting on it because of the Pats recent history of not developing

linebackers.

1) So much for the boycott on the Herald

2) It's the Herald-- are we sure they got the story right?

I agree with you, but it's been pointed out to me on this board a couple of times that the reason for that could be that the type of linebackers that Belichick would deem worth picking are rarely available when the Pats are drafting. If, say, Gholston is around at 7, and Belichick really likes what he sees, I would be pretty pumped if the Pats drafted him.

I'm happy he's not thinking of packing it in. His experienced will be invaluable to the younger safeties. Plus he's a bit of a beast.

Rodney is the man! Even if he did let Tyree get that ball. I think Bruschi and Seau will most likely retire in the off season. That begins to leave some holes, however with Adalius Thomas still in the mix and his ability to play the middle and outside we still have some experienced depth. I am guessing that BB is setting his sights on Lance Briggs of the Bears, he is a free agent this year and has done some nice work in "Chi" town. He has had to live in Urlacher's shadow but depite that has put down some pretty nice numbers. I guess time will tell.

Why is considered mutually exclusive that Bruschi and Seau come back and we make other moves at LB which would reduce their snaps? Neither guy is going to cost much from a cap standpoint and I'd much rather have those guys as depth and situational players than guys like Alexander.

He'll look good in a Bills uniform. And I'm sure the #1 pick they'd be willing to give for him would look great in a Pats uniform.

Buffalo is a retirement home for washed up Pats.

#1 pick? LMAO... dude... come on. No one is giving anything for Harrison, and the Bills wouldn't sign him even if he was cut (like Lawyer Malloy).

Harrison is one of those guys who will have to be forced to retire because no one will sign him. He is getting worn down, and maybe he should retire gracefully.

I don't know, I just have a hard time picturing either guy being the 6th or 7th LB on the depth chart. Not knowing anything about the cap, I thought they would cost more than they're worth. But if either can stay for a small hit and not preclude the Pats from making some serious LB moves, then welcome back guys.

Anyway, of the 3, I'm most glad Rodney is coming back.

Indeed, he sounds perplexed as to why people might think he would.

Everyone’s asking me about retirement. I don’t know what to say about it. I haven’t said anything publicly about wanting to retire or anything like that. I’m very hungry to get back to working out and be a part of this team, and try to win another championship.

Thanks for the summary, since I refuse to click on any link to the Herald. They are persona non grata to me....

Rodney had a very good year. I see no reason why he shouldn't come back.

If they're on the team, I'll take a slow Burschi/Seau over the Monty Beisel type who will replace them when say, the starter gets hurt.

i agree, and i just don't understand why anyone is saying he didn't play well or that he's too old.

I just don't get it.

Sure, I have no problem with them in a back up role, if possible. I just don't want them as the starting/only ILBs.
