anyone else feel like its forever away? we gotta go through the rest of winter, spring and summer before we get to feel any better! And lets be honest, we can lie to ourselves all we want, but NONE of us will feel better untill the pats win their next game.

I dont think I can wait this long, wonder if I can be put into a chemically induced coma for 7 months.

for me here in england, i have football (soccer) to keep me occupied until may-july, depending on how good the european championship is it may be until august, when pre season, you guys have the red sox and celtics to keep your minds of the pats don't you?

I should be a lot better in 20 days when free agency begins. Though I don't believe, at this time, we will be big spenders. It all depends what Beliochick do over the next few weeks with re: to the caps. You can kinda picture and hear BB stewing in his office at Gillette, "They thought last year we re loaded, well I'll show them and I'll finally get a chance to shut that little puke Mercury Morris up (sinister laugh)."

August won't get here soon enough.

I'll be at Gillette in July for a concert. I'll be sitting in much better seats than I do for games. :D

Football is 365 days a year now. The minute the SB ended, the 2008 season began. Actually it didn't feel like a year in between the last SB and this SB.

Not really. This is the shortest offseason since 2005. While the rest of February and March are easily the dullest months (sports-wise) of the year, once we get through them the draft will be right around the corner. Then you can entertain yourself with some Red Sox baseball in-between rookie camp, passing camp, mini-camp. And, as a new attraction this year, Boston Celtics playoff basketball will make its grand return in May and June. Friggin' month-long. That's what's awesome about the NBA. The Finals are about 5 weeks after the playoffs start.

Then it's go-time.

For some strange reason, I am actually getting pretty psyched for next year. Last Sunday was traumatic but 2007 was draining and really not enjoyable.

It's funny how all the media and trolls make this out to be the end of the story. However, we just finished chapter 2007. A long way to go before this book is completed.

I don't know if it's because we're not living in New England. But, it wasn't as enjoyable as going 14-2 in some respects. Because, you were always trying to defend the team instead of congragulating them for building a juggernaut. Starting with Spygate, running up scores, prospects of going undefeated, nothing else matters. I'm glad the team went for the perfect season. But, I wonder had we rested some veterans more here and there. Would they have had more left in the tank. Odd that L.Smith and P.Woods played more in the Super Bowl than some reg. season games. There really isn't an off-season anymore. Feb 29th will be the 1st day of free agency.
Hopefully we get something done with R.Moss. I'm sure Asante will go for the cash. And, I don't blame him one bit. He didn't have a big pay day until this year. With the high picks in Rounds 1 and 3. I believe we can re-load on the run. We will need a lights out draft though.

The question marks all over the place worry me a whole lot. Our entire defense is a question mark except for our line. This slow point in the year will make it seem forever away, but once we know our team, and the sox get playing the "offseason" will fly by.

I don't understand how many people thought it was a draining or unpleasent season. I enjoyed every minute of this season up until the very end of the SB. (I do live in Boston, so it helps :) ) Seeing Brady to Moss, blowouts, and the pursuit of perfection was about as much fun as football can get (for me). I just wish it ended differently. :(

Back then, people didn't hate the Pats as much. They were building the dynasty. The Patriots are really hated now from then.

Just today I went and bought Education of a Coach and Patriot Reign. Just got done reading the first 5 chapters of the former, and hopefully, by the time I finish, I'll be able to read a sports page withiout cringing.

Just reading the beginning, which is mostly about Steve Belichick and Ernie Adams, I'm already fascinated as hell. From what Steve went through at Vanderbilt, you see it foreshadowing a lot of Bill's own dealings with the media. It's also reassuring as hell, let me tell you. It goes back to how in 2001, the Rams beat the Pats in the regular season, and Belichick was convinced that it was because he had let the distractions get to himself and his team. He was open about it, he told the team that he'd let them down, and he rededicated himself to executing what Ron Jaworski would later call the greatest coaching job he ever saw. You could argue that, in much the same way, all of 2007 was an extended response to 2006 and that, likewise, 2008 will likely see BB pushed to new heights. To anyone who hasn't read the book, it's a great way to remind yourself that, as much as things suck right now, we do have the best coach in the history of the NFL on our sideline, and because of that we'll always be in the hunt.

i am going to be in hibernation till.. Sept... i cant wait for next season... for the giants to not even make the playoffs.. so giant fans will jump off the bandwagon... and the Pats to take the championship that belongs to them

I am scared about Moss, he better be signed on Feb 29 at 12 AM!!! Then I can go on vacation and disable my wireless connection

Cant get here soon enough!

You know what would of been crazy?

Gus Johnson calling the game during Eli's Escape.

The Celts & Sox are all well and good....and don't get me wrong i love the BoSox but damn it just isn't the same....:(......Draft day please come!!!!!

Well, just finished Education of a Coach. Bummer- just bought it earlier today. Was hoping to get a little more time out of it, but I guess I got sucked in :p

To be honest I'm looking forward to seeing what moves we make this offseason. Not thinking about next season right now.
