Every time I hear people complain about it, I remember the play and it wasn't really an easy interception. The guy barely got his fingertips on it and had to worry about keeping his feet inbounds since he was so close to the sidelines.

He's watching it the ENTIRE time... there no one around...
I would have been ok if he caught it and by mistake landed out of bounds... but before worrying about that, you got to accomplish step 1.

Pretty sure one dropped ball in the sb is not going to negate all the great things he did all year , and the year before.

If we let everyone go who had a realistic chance to make one play that would have won the game and failed, it is going to be an empty locker room - especially on defense. Seymour, Green, Vrabel, Thomas, Samuel, Rodney, Merriweather, etc, etc, etc.

Did you see how high up that ball was? He barely had his fingertips on it. It's a play that could have been made, but it wouldn't have been as easy as you think. Don't make him out to be Superman.

Asante himself said that if he wants to be considered one of the elite he must make that pick. On ascale of 1-10 it was a 6 Tyree's was a 15= Giants SB champs.

you seriously don't think he can jump higher than that? I've SEEN him jump higher than...not only that but HE HIMSELF said that he misjudged the ball and should have jumped higher.

I'm not saying that one thing lost the game for them but let's not go overboard defending him either.

Finally, someone gets it. It wasnt an easy play as everyone is saying it. He had to make a play on the ball. The ball wasnt right in his bread basket as some of you guys think.

Moss would have caught that... he's 6 inches taller. Plus, his vertical is likely greater. Finally, his arms are longer. That's probably at least a foot or two of an advantage right there. On top of all of that, Moss's hands are bigger and he's probably has more speed, is more agile, and can jump faster into the air than Samuel. All of that does not mean that Samuel made a mistake. That's obviously not a pass a short cb can catch.

The other things I forgot are that Moss expects a pass to come to him. Samuel expects the passes to go to the guy he's covering. In fact, the other QB is trying to NOT throw it to Samuel! Also, Moss and Brady practice many routes. Samuel and Eli did not practice together except for the Giants game earlier this season!

Brady can tell Moss exactly what the play will be, and aims for Moss, not the defenders. Eli doesn't tell Samuel exactly what he's about to do and when, and does not aim at Samuel.

Should he have caught it? Maybe. I personally think if he'd judged his jump better he might have. Based on what he's said, I think he feels that way too.

Even he said he should have caught it. He felt he had misjudged it and didn't leap high enough. That was a HUGE break for Manning and the Giants. How many times have you seen him make plays 10 times tougher than that one. Just look at his interception in the Charger game. Incredible play, 1000x harder than the one he dropped. He blew it almost, ALMOST as much as McCree did for the Chargers last year when he intercepted and fumbled what could have been the game clinching turnover. If the Patriots don't want him because of that drop the Chargers would take him in a heartbeat.
