Another case of Florio going overboard.

I wouldn't mind seeing Chad Johnson in a Pats uniform.

ANOTHER TAKE ON CINCO STINK

On Thursday, Alex Marvez of FOXSports.com reported that Bengals receiver Chad Johnson shoved a league media relations employee in an effort to get away from national reporters assembled in Hawaii to get some sound from him.

John Clayton of ESPN.com characterizes the incident in tamer terms, saying merely that Ocho Stinko "brushed aside" the employee. But Clayton also raises the fact that Johnson's refusal to make himself available to the media could result in a fine.

In our view, Johnson should be fined -- for the refusal to talk to the media, and for his treatment of the league-office employee.

We've got no problem with a guy who wears his emotions on his sleeves. But there's a line, and Johnson has crossed it.

The excuse for his behavior?

"Consistently, I've done it," he told NFL Network, the one news outlet with whom he'll converse. "I haven't done it perfect, but consistently at a high level. I get out of line at times, but what great one doesn't? What great one doesn't get emotional? Find me a great one who hasn't done it like that and I'll be quiet."

Here's one, Chad. His name is Art Monk.

Now shut your f--king mouth.

lol I hate those pissy little media vultures.

that dude needs a couple midol.

Store this away in your memory bank for later reference. There is a rumor going around at PatriotsInsiders that if Moss doesn't sign, the Pats will go after Chad Johnson.

I really don't see that happening, but just because it's a long offseason, what would the pats have to offer for an ocho cinco?
I'm just assuming it would be draft picks.

Does said rumor explain why the Bengals willingly absorb the 8+ million dollar dead hit on their 2008 cap they get if they trade him?

According to them...he's pulling a Dillon. Which is true. They claim that there are four teams interested in Johnson and that the Bengals feel that it's time to ship him out of town. To be honest, I really don't see the "Financial Logic" for the Bengals to do that. An $8 million cap hit is significant.

yeah, it's not an additional 8, though, is it?
I thought it was around an additional 3m.

if I thought I had a real problem w/johnson and I could steal some good picks to sign on the cheap I'd let him go and eat the 3.
what's your alternative --- sit on some unproductive guy who maybe holds out and just let him walk when his contract's done to spite him?
I think it all comes down to what kind of offer they'd get --- I'm not convinced there's a significantly bad relationship there, but I really have no idea.
maybe he's just trying to get a new deal out of all this.

iam constantly amazed how florio gets credentials as part of the media. Does he ever 'report' anything other than giving his own opinion ?
I must say this is a great biz model for him. Setup a website about a game lot of people love and talk BS and earn credentials.
