I think Im just going to shut it down for a month, not looking at news for a while .. its been a rough week, to many if's and buts ..I know some people are looking at the positive, but its like a death I need time to grieve before we could move on... Will stop back in a month, I guess in time to see Assante sign with the Jets.. I know we had a great season, but now we have become a afterthought .. I tried watching total access again today, to hear next yrs super bowl is going to be the Manning bowl... UGH.. well like I said need some time away from Pats news for a month... See ya all then..

Re: Time to shut it down for now..

Take care, Bro.

see you in October.

Re: Time to shut it down for now..

You'll be back in a week, two at most.

We're all hurting but we get through it.

Sorry but that's just crazy. We lost a game of football...yes it was disappointing and extremely frustrating but it was only a game. Personally I'm over the disappointment and am looking forward to the off season. It's your choice to leave but I'd rather stay here and talk Patriots :rocker:

Feel better! We all deal with our disappointment in different ways...do what you need to do.

I'm with you. From here on out, there are only two things I'm going to do when looking back at the 2007 season:
(1) Reminisce on all the pleasant memories. (If, for some reason, your pleasant memories of the season were wiped out by Sunday, I truly feel sorry for you.)
(2) Think about what the Pats can do to avoid such a recurrence in the future. [Yes, I know that what occurs in my brain has no actual bearing on the field. But anything Patriot-related that goes through my mind almost certainly will go through someone else's, maybe even BB's. :) ]

I'm not going to get involved in the "If only . . ." debates, because that and $1 gets me a soda at 7-11. :)

Re: Time to shut it down for now..

No question it sucked...really sucked, but like Moss said "show must go on". Not watching ESPN has made the loss easier. Last thing I want is the media to cram the loss down my throat. If they are predicting a "Manning Bowl" next year, so be it...the good folks at ESPN need something to talk about. Truth of the matter is, the last thing they want to see is the Pats in it.

Re: Time to shut it down for now..

Bye, Sean. We'll see you when you come back. Don't stay away long. I do understand the need to decompress a bit.:)

Re: Time to shut it down for now..

I've been having a modified blackout. I haven't read a single news story about the Super Bowl, and have avoided the football blogs I usually read. When my copy of SI came yesterday, I put it straight in the recycling without even looking at the cover.

At the same time, it's been therapeutic to be able to come here, since there are people who are willing to start discussing next season as opposed to just looking backwards.

Completely agree. I have turned off ESPN radio and listening to my ipod instead. Not reading the papers, not watching ESPN on TV.

But it has been great to drown my sorrows with fellow Pats fans. It HAS been therapeutic and it has helped me turn my thoughts away from that damn game and onto free agency and the draft.

Well I apologize if people are wired differently than you. Seriously, think about the Brady-to-Moss go-ahead TD in Week 17 and tell me it doesn't bug you that it was against the team that beat us in the Super Bowl.

I admit. I don't have what it takes to even THINK of watching a second of SC on ESPN or the NFLN. But this board is all that really helps me grieve. Why? Because you can already feel a new begining with the rumors coming about, it just makes me happier then sittin there bummed out.

I take sabaticals every year ... usually after the draft though.

Watson's IQ said it best, I haven't watched one sports segment on any channel all week, have not read any newspapers, etc, etc, I've only been hanging here all week, THE place to be.

Time heals all wounds boys, this one's gonna take a long time; how we hung so many points on that team in week 17 and torched that weak ass secondary and got only 14 in the Super Bowl is a real head scratcher, but it is what it is and life goes on..........................

I've been trying to stay away from this site. But it's like crack to me, and I is hooked. I'm just being very selective about which threads I read.

Changed my sig and I am moving on to next year.

I am ready to look at th combine and draft day.

I am VERY excited about our chances for next year.

We have the games best coach, QB, WR group, DL, a hell of an "O" line and three terrific running backs. I expect to see the "D" get a lot better where they need to.

Winning the Superbowl next year will be all I need and I have to say I like our chances better than any other team - even at this point as our team changes a bit.]

LET'S GO PATS!!!!!!!!!!

Take care Sean and keep the faith baby!!
We'll be back!!

You are very smart. Stay away from the Is Belichick Getting Off Too Easy thread. I think I lost some brain cells reading it.

Just a friendly tip!

I'll take that advice.

I've thought of stepping away for a little while too, and I still might choose that path. But, I like talking football, and draft season is one of my favorite times of the year.
