After seeing this replayed a million times in the last 3 days I was just wondering why this play wasn't reviewed. I'm not saying it was definitely incomplete but with such a big play I think it should of been looked at. It would of been a booth review because it was under 2 min.

Anyone else agree?

Another example of the officials being absent the last two minutes. No question, that catch needed to be reviewed. It would have been upheld - it was an absolutely AMAZING catch.

Add to that the missed facemasking of Thomas and Seymour on that play, as well as the multiple clock issues and you have a sloppily officiated game. That's nothing new - we've been seeing this for years. As bad as it was, it still wasn't as bad as SuperBowl XL between SEA-PIT.

Wow, now we're stretching. We're upset they didn't review a play that we agree was called correctly?

I'm sure, by the way, that the booth took multiple looks at it. There was a time out on the field after the catch, so they would have had many chances. They didn't buzz Carey, I'm sure, because they didn't see any reason to.

While the replay booth needs to get it right, you don't want to stop the game for two minutes, particularly in a crucial situation in a big game, to make the ref come under the hood while the players stand around just to review a play that is going to be upheld.

wasn't there a thread about this?? It was a catch...plain simple..

Wow, some fans here have just become everthing wrong that they have ever said about fans of the Chargers, Colts, Jets, etc., etc. Pathetic.

that's how it works. what i find funny is other teams fans trying to tell our fans to "get over it". those people should take their own advice.

The funny thing is that it makes it harder for the rest of us to move on when nobody else will.

And all of us who said "great game Giants, it sucks but we'll be back next year" get drowned out by the turd.s

There was NO missed facemask, look at the picture in the other thread, the hand is UNDER the facemask. You may argue holding, but in my opinion (NCAA Div 1 football official) there weren't any "trainwrecks" that got missed. Pats didn't execute. Face it!

We cannot blame the refs for the loss, Pats had too many opportunities to win the game themselves.

Wow. A Pats fan making a slideshow about missed calls? Yeah, like the Patriots have never gotten the benefit of the officiating. This is pretty ridiculous. I agree with tuckeverlasting - didn't you guys say that the Chargers were just whiners and sour grapes after they talked about the Pats playing dirty? What happened to it being a part of the game?

Personally I thought the game was called quite fairly. There were a few more calls that could have been made, but like another guy on the board said, there was nothing absolutely egregious. The refs let them play the game, but made calls when it merited it.

If his hand is under his facemask and he is able to control Seymour's head then what is he holding onto?

The exaggerations on that play are absolutely ridiculous. Unlike most fans here, I still have it on my DVR. Someone here said that Seymour's head was "jerked way back" for an extended period of time; above, you're saying his head was "controlled".

After Eli escaped, there is a slight jerk backward, for a brief moment. The defender's hand comes off the jersey & knocks his head back; totally incidental contact, that the refs would have been crucified for calling anything on it.

His hand is not ON the facemask, it's under, if you can show me a pic where his hand is on the facemask, I'll change my mind, but that is not a facemask.

Look at that picture very closely. His hand is through the bottom hole in Seymour's facemask. The fat part of his hand is through the hole and near Seymour's mouth. You can see the facemask bar over his white glove and then his thumb is outside on top of one of the bars on the facemask.

His hand is not "on" his facemask, his hand is through it.

You've gotta be kidding.

You can see EVERY PART of his facemask; there is no part of his hand or finger obscuring anything. His hand is, VERY clearly, under the facemask.

Glad you're not a ref....

You are correct sir, you can see EVERY part of the bars of the facemask. Pheenix11 is high.

You two are on friggin crack.

Where is the bar on the lower right (Seymour's right) side of his facemask? Its covered by white glove.

Incorrect, the curve of the bottom bar of the facemask takes it UNDER the middle bar, I can see it.

Did you look at the video on that thread too.....

Forget the facemask for a second. Look at how Jarvis Green's arm is wedged between Seymour and Eli. That probably gave Seymour less leverage to corrall Eli and definitely prevented Green from getting a good hold of him. What a crazy break for the Giants.

Chris
