I am convinced, and was during the game, that a jumbo formation like we used in the 4th quarter against Diego, would have put us on the offensive, dishing it out instead of taking it, finishing off the tremendously wired Giants defense.

The giants let it all out doing what they do best, rotated in, and blitzed occasionally. They were beating us up physically, including Brady.

Agree with me or not, let's say I'm right for arguments sake. BB didn't see it, he was too close to it and just might not have realized how much fatigue had set in. Dare I say, he might have been emotionally drained.

What if everybody but him saw they needed to change strategy? Would anybody tell him?

Would a Charlie Weis or a Romeo Crennel say we're losing control, we need to change course?

I think they would. They might cite a gme from years past with the vast experience they had and convince him to take a fresh look.

Would anybody on this coaching staff step up and say "this isn't working"?

I don't think so. Scharneccia is a great coach with no ego, it seems. He's survived through unbelievable changes for years. As great as he is to have around, I'm guessing making waves isn't his style.

We have guys with experience and we have BB mini me's, coaches from tiny schools willing to work like beavers to gain the masters favor.

This is great, but when the coach is worn down, the QB is not at his best, who speaks up? Josh? When he talks, you can see BB's lips move.

When asked if he was qualified, he didn't even respond with confidence, he sheepishly said, i guess if coach says so.

I think the staff has done a great job. BB's the greatest coach in football. Does that mean he never gets tired, never misses the real story of the game because he's focused on a game plan that's not working as well as it should?

This staff's as good as any 99.99% of the time. In this one moment, he needed somebody to disagree and wake him up to what was going on.

There just isn't anybody like that on this staff IMO.

"BB's the greatest coach in football." - Tom Coughlin currently holds that title. He took a 14 point under dog wild card team with a hillbilly QB and beat the best 18-0 in NFL history, the NFL MVP, the NFL Coach of the Year, #1 scoring offense in NFL History!!!!!!!

Well, it's a matter of opinion anyway. The guy on Green Bay got one of the silly awards you need to stink the year before to get.

Out coached in that game? Definitely. We had the personnel to do whatever type of offense the defense gave us, yet we let them run their game plan down our throats.

He got them sky high too, all props to Coughlin.

Greatest coach in football is a designation based on your body of work. A year ago, and up until six weeks ago Tom Coughlin held the title of NFL coach most likely to get canned. Even if they made the playoffs. They were going to have to win at least one just to save his job.

If they weren't DC and OC of the NEP, Dean Pees and Skippy might not be Coordinators on any other (decent) team in the NFL. Their main qualifications are, that they both will dutifully execute the game plan given to them from the HC.

I'm not sure any coach could have made Steven Spach magically materialize to staff the jumbo 3TE set, since he didn't make the trip.

Spach was there, but he was one of the 8 inactives. Apparently they did not think a true 3 TE offense would be needed. And the way they come up with plans for a game, its a group decision..same COs that won 18 games. I'm not sure that was the problem.

They've used a lineman. Was Callaghahan available? Two TEs and Evans would have been able to do the job.

If that is the case about them then why is "skippy" being talked about a possiable HC I'm not saying they are godsents theat are the greatest thing ever but at least think about what you say befroe you say it

Why do people still continue to think the Pats didn't make adjustments during the game. They clearly did. The problem was because we couldn't stop the Giants' rush, nothing we did worked. Part of this goes to the coaching staff, but part of it goes to the players.

Remember that Crennel wasn't smart enough to figure out how to stop the Panthers when Harrison and Wilson went out. The offense just bailed them out. The defense didn't bail out the offense in this case.

On that last Giants drive other than the last play, Pees and Belichick put their defense in position to make plays and the players didn't execute. Both Samuel and Meriweather had interceptions go through their hands and we had Eli sacked but he broke free and connected to David Tyree for 25 yards. How is that the coaches fault?

Ray Clay ,You're point is very well taken by Me.This staff is not the same staff that won Us three Super Bowls. We have two new coordinators that have done a very good job but have not gotten Us back to the top.Is it their fault?Of Course not ,but that doesn't mean that We can't do a little self scouting.I don't think that a stone should be left unturned.I'm not saying We should go crazy but Bill Belichick is a smart guy,He can see many things that We cannot.A review is not out of bound.Great thought Ray Clay!

You hate to quibble with greatness, but what would be the harm in hiring an older coach with experience. Somebody whose brain BB could pick?

There's a lot of Parcells hate around here, but he wasn't afraid to hire strong coaches and there was a lot of tension with them.

I imagine meetings with BB, Coughlin, Romeo Weis and others got pretty testy sometimes.

I also think it made for better game planning adjustments.

Competition in ideas is as healthy as competition on the field IMO.

We are in complete agreement my friend. We are not reinventing the wheel here but a little creative disagreement doesn't always hurt.Just a little tinkering is required.
