Question for Pats fans in Asia

How do you guys watch the games? I just found out I am going to Guam for 3 years in June, and I want to follow my boys. Any info could help...times the games are played, if any satellite service out that way carries the NFL, anything really. Thanks guys.

heh...I'm not in asia, but I was actually researching this because a friend of mine was in korea on business during the season.

I think there's actually one or two sort of asian cable espn channels that show nfl games.
I can't really remember.....let me see if I can google it.....

also, if you have net access you can d/l the games, or stream them.

I was in Asia for about a year and ESPN syndicates some broadcasts out of ESPN Hong Kong. Hopefully Guam doesn't pick up ESPN Sydney because you will get stuck with football (the other game) most times. Really, you need to use Yahoo who will stream every game of the season for you for a ridiculously low price (only available to foreign IP address customers). Finally, consider that even if the game is televised it is undoubtedly aired a few hours actually it actually happens so stay away from the internet if you are going to watch.

Fox Selects Guam Affiliate

Fox entertainment has entered into an affiliation agreement with Sorensen Television Systems' newest station, KEQI, to carry its programming exclusively on Guam . The announcement was made today by Rex Sorensen, President of Sorensen Television Systems (STS) and Ed Davis, Vice President and General Manager of STS.

KEQI will broadcast the programming over the air on UHF Channel 22, which will also be on MCV Channel 6. The launch is tentatively set for September 1 st . "We're installing a direct video link from the U. S. Mainland for the Fox programming, which will enable us to carry all programming live or on a same-day delay of only a few hours," Sorensen stated. Fox Entertainment has agreed to allow KEQI to carry primetime programming on a same-day delayed basis, rather than holding those programs for six days as is presently the practice for Guam network affiliates.

Fox Entertainment has an extensive lineup of sports programming including Major League Baseball, NFL Football and NASCAR Racing. The network's primetime lineup includes one of the nation's most popular programs, "American Idol," "House," "24," and "The Simpsons" among others. "We are pleased to be able to bring these shows to Guam for broadcast on the same day they are received, including innovative new interactive programming, which Fox will soon bring to network television," Sorensen said.

Sorensen Television Systems also owns and operates KTGM (ABC14), the ABC Affiliate on Guam , which the company purchased on November 1 st , 2005 . It plans to launch KPPI on Saipan later this year, which will also be an ABC affiliate broadcasting on Channel 7, over the air. KPPI will be the only over-the-air television signal broadcast on Saipan .

I'm in Cambodia/Laos - we get the Thai cable television which includes up to 7 different ESPN stations via satellite. They show one game in each timeslot (i.e., one 1 PM and one 4 PM game as well as the 8 PM game). Only problem is that they choose the games. Luckily, this year, with the Patriots generating such a buzz early on they switched most of the games to the Patriot game whenever they were playing. Haven't seen them play so much on TV since I moved to Southeast Asia in 1989!

As mentioned by another poster, there is SOPCAST and other internet feeds, they are VERY dependent on the quality of your internet connection. Works in Laos, Thailand and Singapore, but not in Cambodia. Same would hold true for the Yahoo streaming or Slingbox.

But looks like you can get DirectTV in Guam!?!?!?! Bloody hell, when do we get THAT option? That's awesome.

The biggest challenge is that you have to get up at very odd hours to watch the games. But sleep is overrated anyway...

I'm thinking I am going to buy a DVR instead of hoping the cable company or whatever will supply one. Then, if I have to work or not up for getting up at 3am, I can just record it and watch it later on.
