Let's see, The Steelers in '01 said the better team lost today, the Titans in '03 said we weren't any good after they lost, and The Colts blamed it on the refs. In '04 the Colts blamed it on the weather and not having home field advantage. '06 Chargers proclaimed themselves classy and said because our players threw their trash talk back in their face our coach has no class. '07 Jags player says Brady's only average when he goes 26/28, Chargers' hartwick cries about Seymour and says he's dirty. '08 Patriots lose the super Bowl in a heart breaking defeat after missing 3-4 plays that would have iced it and not 1 player says anything but the Giants deserved it, all the while the Giants are talking smack even when accepting the trophy. Hey Giants if you want to see real class in victory, look at the '01 Pats, but I guess in NY you feel like your already beyond reproach!

You know how girls go to the ice cream when they break up a guy? A closet with 3 SB rings is better than ice cream.

I agree with this thread, I was saying the same thing to a buddy of mine. Patriots are the only team who can beat anybody at anytime (mostly any time) yet they're the only team that does nothing but give other teams props, and they never go around making guarrentees, and what not.

I think Class is overrated.

Yeah in football it's kind of an oxymoron. But the point is that we're always getting stones thrown at us when all of the other teams are no better!

While I think this class talk is BS, I'm sure some of the people in this vid are the people talking about how not classy our team is.

edit:I'm not sure if its going to the right video or not, but its supposed to be the giants fans cause chaos at parade one

Dude... come on....

What they'll soon find out is that great teams can win it all, but the best teams make it back as its infinitely tougher to win your second than your first. We made it back to the top not once but twice, and we know we'll be there again. These Steelers, Bucs, Colts, and Giants in their respective title years in this era are great teams congratulations to them. But none of them are us, not yet, not even close.

guess what, the pats are no different than any other team. Typically the favorite when they lose have no one to blame but themselves. they tip their cap, know in their heart that they were the better team but didnt execute. Typically underdogs will mouth off after the game. It may be because the opposing team disrespected them or the media disrespected them. They feel as if they shocked the world. the bigger the underdog the worse it is. The pats are no different. They felt disrespected by SD and the media, that their all world QB didnt make the pro bowl while Phillip Rivers did. that merrimen was talking too much. the pats reacted after the game with no class. you can argue they were provoked. you can also argue that the giants were provoked. when a DE tells your team to pack your bags and go home and then you beat him, when an all world QB sarcastically makes fun of a prediction on a score and then fails to even make that score there is going to be some blowback. LT couldnt deal with it. anyone who is complaining should think about their comments on LT.

Bottom line, you have a QB who admitted after every game Bruschi plays another one bites the dust. You have arguably the biggest cheap shot artist in the game and HGH user in rodney harrison, you have your own LB in Seau who celebrates every play with a dance, you have a coach who has pushed a cameraman out of the way to shake hands, the same coach who was told to go back to his sideline because there was a second left and he instead left the field the same coach who looks so displeased to talk about football. you have a DT in Wilfork who was caught jabbing his finger through Brandon Jacobs facemask, you have a WR who may or may not have been hitting his woman friend who has also had past discretions, you have a team that runs up the score and when asked about it either have said, "what do you want us to do kick a fg", or "if you dont like it, stop us", you have an organization trademarking 19-0 before becoming 19-0 and oh yeah, your team was caught cheating on a rule that was created because they were caught doing the same thing before.

It is hard to find a "team" with class. every team has individuals that are not classy on the field or off or both. these are football players not etiquette teachers. I know how it hurts when 1 or 2 plays made the difference in a game decided by a FG and have the other team after its over bad mouth your team or mock you. The pats did it to my team, now the giants are doing it to yours. It svcks but you just need to ride it out and get them next year. But please, no more delusions that the Pats have class and every other team doesnt.

But they don't give the media interesting sound bites or answer stupid questions; so that overrides any class. I recall 01 rams players saying the better team didn't win. You won't ever hear that out of the Patriots.

I think the media lacked class in general(not all but most) and were extremely irresponsible and it played a part in the daily stress of players and coaches.

can you explain how the media was classless?

I also dont agree with your dwight white quote. I think we all remember the 69 Jets and the 85 Bears, no?

no dude.. the bottom line...

The pats in the trenches and between the hash marks lacked class...

Thats just the truth.. I feel bad for ya.. but quit pickin your ass.

You guys laid an egg.. pure and simple

Hey, I'm a Skins fan... i know how to lay an egg... so..

Most of your points are not talking about the op. Unless your a patsfan you really don't understand! This team has excelled for seven years now, and every single season the media and the players on other teams, as well as opposing fans have found ways to denegrate anything the pats have accomplished. In San Diego celebrating on the field and in the locker room may have been unappreciated by the losers but not one of the Pats would have gone on tv and said we won because they were overrated or Hartwick is soft and cheap. Since the super Bowl in '01 we've heard more crap spewed at us than other teams can imagine. Why? at first because the stupid fans and media, and players didn't get it! How can you guys be good? /your Quarteback was a 6th round draft choice and you don't have any guys that dance or fly or eat popcorn or use cell phones. Then the media would constantly pick the Colts or steelers and be pissed off and they came out looking stupid. I can't recall ever beating a team in the playoffs where the opponents said we deserved it and were the better team. Maybe the jags in '05, maybe i'm not sure. But the media decided LT's idiotic and ongoing rant was ok(which was childish and classless in itself) and all of the ignorant football fans in america decided to follow the stupidity instead of looking at the facts. Fact is BB was a coach in NY for years and they won, so he was not a problem. You just don't get that every decision you make whether it's what you wear to what you drive is influenced in some way by decisions in NY, that's where the power is. Catch them when they're being honest and they'll tell you so. NY has no problem with Indy winning(because it's Indy), but BB jilted them for their worst rivals and it was fine if he didn't win, but when he got succesful they got jealous, and angry. After living in NYC, I know that every New yorker thinks that the world revolves around them and their city, BB challenged this notion and they went after him. Didn't most of this no-class thing come about around the same time it was rumored that the Giants wanted BB and actually tried to get Pioli, jilted again and their message turns to vitriol and a barrage of crap against him. Do you honestly think that Parcells, Cowher, Turner, Phillips, Coughlin are classy people, they're football coaches! But answer me this, before Moss' mild split the defense celebration name me one Patriot with a patented celebration?

In 2001 no one gave the pats a shot. much like the giants this year, much like the chargers against the colts this year. When the pats came out as a team, and brady was crowned the golden boy for the final drive (the video of him in his aww shucks pose with the confetti streaming down on him is still a superbowl fixture) they were the darlings of the NFL. I know I was rooting for them. I rooted for them against that jerk TO and even the underdog panthers. They were and still are a great team.
Sure, maybe analysts picked the colts every year. usually they had a great record and were in the AFCCG. They werent too far off most years and would have been right last year. I dont look for quotes too often but did the pats say the colts were the better team last year? LT last year actually said the pats were the better team and the better team won and maybe we can learn from this (apparently they havent yet) he also said that he didnt appreciate the display, not of celebrating the victory but of mocking his team. I seem to remember the press being 50/50 on this and this year it turned more 90/10 pats as the media was telling the chargers to shut up.

Moss has his thing, doesnt welker crouch down and do the same thing, seau has his dance after every good play he makes. doesnt samuel after getting an INT go to the middle of the field and fold his arms. Didnt hobbs do the same thing in the superbowl?

all you all do is dance on other teams logo after a big win. Now that's CLASS!

Granted Moss has his thing which by NFL standards is pretty mild, Junior celebrates like a normal athlete who made a big play just an excited gesture! i'll give you Asante kind of stupid but I don't consider any of these to be in the category of -Popcorn, river dance etc.(TO) Baby bottle, rowing etc(Steve smith)-Cheerleaders, golf etc.(Ocho Cinqo), Lights out(Merriman), Axe swinging(trotter), Chicken dance(Ray Lewis), Moonwalk(Mcnabb), Cell Phone(Joe horn). The Eagles in '04 had so many dances that even the back up tight end who was a long snapper had one when he scored. And no LT said "If we played them ten times we win nine" maybe this year he said something ok but i think he was trying to lay low because of his own situation. Being a fan of a different team i'll give you a pass on not knowing the history behind the bitterness between the Bolts and the Pats, but in the '05 season the Bolts came into Foxboro and ended the home winning streak with a beating to the tune of 24 points or so, and after the game all of the bolts players were less than gracious winners yelling into the Pats locker room etc. this is really what generated the response by the Pats last year. And the reason I think the tide started to turn about how last year was perceived in regards to the Bolts was that they had numerous similar altercations with other teams. Namely Rivers and a few others against the Broncos and Colts, but no one in their right mind would say that Norv turner was to blame like they did BB.

The Patriots are the Eddie Hascals of the NFL. "Yes, Ma'am"... "No Ma'am"... "Thank you very much ma'am"... then Mrs. Cleaver turns her back:
and it's
"Hey Beaver... I wanna stick my man meat in your momma's oven"

---

That's the Patriots in a nutshell. Karma's a biitch when she's kickin' yer a_ss, eh?
