Simply yes or no.

To some people this might seem like an ridiculous question, but after reading the mourning here for the last 2 days, there actually isn’t a real clear general consensus. Some people would actually want to strategically lose, in order to take pressure off the team and further dim the target off our back. I personally feel such a philosophy is absolutely ludicrous. People also said in retrospect the whole experience of perfection was more nauseating then exhilarating. (Not criticizing that, I could understand what you're saying)

We all know how every single one of us else felt after Brady was initially stuffed in the Ravens game on fourth down, completely numb. More so then any other previous regular season loss feeling, since perfection was on our minds. Will you still have the same mindset this season? I will.

I feel the only way to repent for this season is 19-0. Of course the Super Bowl is always the main goal, but for me personally, the only way to make up for the 2007 New England Patriots final outcome, would be perfection. Again, if we go 10-6 and win the Super Bowl I'm still the happiest guy on earth as we all will be. But in terms of making up for this season, 19-0 is truly the only way to wash the dirty taste out of my mouth.

What says you Pats board?

Absolutely YES. 08 is a good year to do that and here are reasons:

1-spygate will be over.
2- Moss's lawsuite will be resolved.
3-New and good players show up in Pats team.

possibilities are endless.

If it takes a loss or two next year to keep the team focused enough to get the job done in the end, then I'd gladly take a 14-2 regular season, or worse, if it means a SB win.

Either way, I think we're poised for another run. If they make another run for perfection, I can't see them not learning from this experience.

How is the 49ers fan getting through the moderation? can someone ban him please? he brings nothing.

yes, of course....

and i doubt the pressure will be the same next yr as this yr....

i mean, the pats went through the whole process this yr, next year if they go 16-0, i bet they will really KNOW wut the prize is

I don't know how to answer this question.

I can't imagine rooting for them to lose in any given game at any given time.

At the same time, I don't care about a pefect season. It has never meant anything to me. Well, maybe just a bit, but I would trade our season for the Giant's season in an instant.

I don't want the team to lose ever. But if you told me right now that we'd be playing in the super bowl next year and that it would feature a matchup between a team that was 17-1 and one that was 18-0, I'd probably take the 17-1.

1) Tragic loss of Marquise Hill (RIP)
2) Brady's Baby
3) Harrison HGH
4) Spygate: The Series
5) Moss lawsuit
6) Samuel holdout
7) A losing streak to Peyton

All – some tragic, some damaging, some nauseating, some petty – distractions that will no longer be surrounding the team this season. I as well am most certainly looking forward to a less scandalous filled 2008 season.

You have been putting out some pretty tough opinions here both in this thread and elsewhere since the loss. You have expressed a lot of anger over the loss in other threads as well. You have every right to do that, but I disagree with much of what you are posting and I don't feel that you are being at all respectful of other opinions.

In this thread, you use the term "repent" and "making up for" an 18--1 season. If I were you, I'd be careful using that language within the earshot of any of the guys on the team. I'm sure that they are mighty disappointed, but I doubt very much that they feel any need to repent or make up for the amazing season they had. I certainly don't think they do. Honestly, now. Tell me that you would stand two feet from Rodney Harrison and tell him that he had to repent and make up for this season. I'll visit you in the hospital if you do.

You also say that those of us who suggested that a loss during the regular season might have taken the pressure off the postseason are holding a "ludicrous" position.

Be careful. You're not the only Patriots fan on this board. Many of us feel that we have earned our right to our views and we have earned the right to express it out here without being ridiculed. Disagree if you will, but do it more respectfully.

We're all hurting from the loss. I for one am ready to take abuse from the Trolls. I don't need it from someone who claims to be a Pats fan.

Nothing would be sweeter than going 19 - 0. The pressure on the team would be insane but they would cement their:rocker: place as greatest team ever.

No, no and no. I'm on record with wanting to lose Game 1 and get it out of the way. I don't think I have the strength for another season like this - or access to Valium.

I didn't call anyone ludicrous, I just expressed that I personally thought the idea of strategically losing was.

Which is why I made a poll, to have people further elaborate on the way they feel, not trying to abuse/offend or push my personal feelings on anyone. Which is why I specifically make sure to preface everything I say with "personally".

biggeset choke in nfl history: that is why i voted yes. how sweet would it be to choke and then bounce right back to reclaim the title? i would go ballistic and i think it would be more enjoyable than this year!:rocker:

YES. Of course. It's like drug tolerance. I want to experience that feeling again. Only next time it's gotta be better to get me that high.

I'll be satisfied with whatever gets us a championship next year, and if that means along the way we are once again in the pursuit of perfection then YES count me in!

No!!!

Just win the superbowl!!!!

Any team can win a SB but not many team can have a perfect season.

Why stop pursuing it when you almost did it.?

i don't wnat a nother pressure filled run. Would I mind if they did it again? No but if it came down to another Ravens like game towards the end of the season, I'm not sure if i would care if they lost. I'd rather them lose early in the season if they are going to lose at all. I can't help but feel the excitement might creep back up if the were say 13-0.

OP: Did you really just ask if we as fans want to see our team win every game?
