"As they took field for that last drive — what may well go down as the most improbable and impressive series in the 42-year history of the Super Bowl — the Giants had reason to feel offended. The Patriots had been talking, inviting them to their after-parties, a celebration of their perfect 19-0 season. Amani Toomer, who has been with New York since 1996, would recall Richard Seymour telling him to go on home, that the Giants were done."

What happened to BB's motto of not doing anything to motivate the other team?

that's never been the case on the field. We have a very "chatty" team. Its annoying.

The poor, offended Giants! They've never trash-talked in their LIVES!

Sorry skippy, but NY still holds the biggest choke title. Up 3-0 in the ALCS and they lose 4 in a row.

Massive choke.

This was one game in an "on any Sunday" sport.

I have to disagree. NY Yankees choked and became just another losing playoff team. The Patriots choked on the unbelievable chance at professional football immortality! That sort of choke and NEVER been done before in the NFL.

get out of here you queer little troll

the Squealers lost to the Jaguars...pathetic.

The 'ol transfer to another sport arguement. Pathetic. And by the way, it was much more than a mere "on any Sunday" event. This was a failure of massive proportions. You cant build up all the revelry, potential history, and talk about a perfect season, then simply dismiss it when you fall short in the biggest game of the year that makes or breaks it all. Sorry, you cant have it both ways. You rode a fun ride all year and it crashed in flames. Now you have to deal with it. Save your Sox/Yankess discussion for pitchers and catchers.

And you should know about crashing in flames better than most. And FYI dont put words in my mouth. I'm dealing with this just fine. We got outplayed and outcoached and it totally sucked, no doubt about that. That's not choking unless you want to take away what the Giants accomplished. Oh and I'll bring in any context I want.

Wow, I completely agree with us. But you know, there are a lot of teams that chat alot on the field, and its easy to chat when you're winning all the time. Its just a part of the game. Some just push the envelope more than others.

That's the kind of attitude that probably helped motivate the Giants.

Why is everyone so shocked? EVERY TEAM TRASH TALKS, it's part of the game....hell i played bball in highschool and teams talked trash, no real shocker with sports. The difference is the Pats pride themselves on talking trash ON THE FIELD as opposed to off of it. They don't deny that they talk btw the lines, like they've said before "what's said btween the lines or on the field stays there". Ive heard many members on the Pats say this in one form or another.

Imagine if Colvin was playing.

This is a big deal? Trash talking.

I just wish Seymour could have backed it up.

LOL. Ok. Whatever makes you feel better.

Except no coach in the NFL makes a bigger deal out of what other players SAY than BB. And now it can be said, "The poor offended" Patriots, "They've never trash-talked in their LIVES"! Oh, btw, Richard Seymour acts like an ass.

Good point. Watch out though, Patriots might make another run at 19-0.

Good comeback. That'll show him. You probably scared him back to his own board. No one can take being called a "queer little troll". Maybe a "Little Troll" or a "queer troll" but certainly not a "queer little troll". You really rolled out the big guns on that one. Please don't come after me next.

So, what, the Red Sox didn't outplay and outcoach the Yankees during their comeback from a being down 0-3 in the playoffs? What, was it just luck then? Wow, haven't heard a Red Sox fan admit that. You're the first. I don't agree with you but you said it, not me.
