Is that no matter how poorly we played we could have won if just one of those things goes right in the last drive, or goes wrong for the Giants. Asante's, Harrison's, Meriweather's missed pick, or Eli Gets pulled down. That alot of things that normally happen to go wrong! PS Asante is no Ty Law, he would have caught that ball 100/100 times!

For all the talk about how the Giants outplayed the Pats and "punched them in the mouth"
The game came down to teh last 2 minutes.

It would have been much easier to stomach if the score had been 28-10 and we had been truly outplayed

BUT I do not buy into this PC talk about how the Giants kicked our a**.

One little break here or there and this team would be called the Greatest Ever.

Well, you make some great points. As I just said in another thread, this was an extremely close game, despite all the talk by media or whoever about the Giants dominating the game and ouplaying NE. The Giants made some plays in the clutch and got most of the breaks, esp. at the end. Asante - who can make over-the-shoulder INTs while running at top speed during the regular season - drops one that hits him in the hands and Tyree catches one off his helmet. Football is a game of inches - both figuratively and literally.

marcus, you are exactly right.

The hardest part is that the defense surrendered the lead on a game-winning TD again in the closing minutes of a championship game. And we had better personnel out there too.

Another part that made this hard in retrospect - this team was as healthy as I've seen a Belichick Patriot team. My theory, even before '07, is that no team is better than the Pats when we're healthy and that was mostly true this year.
