I was one of the few Giant fans on this board giving reasons why I suspected the Giants would win a close game. I took a lot of heat from you guys, which was fair and I expected it.

I don't like trolls, and I am not here to be one... nor was I being one when I was I giving the reasons why the Giants could win (contrary to many accusations at that time).

You guys have nothing to hang your heads about... your team was a class act in defeat. Everyone from Moss to Brady didn't make excuses, which showed class.

I am here to collect on a little friendly wager WatsonIQ had in one of our fun exchanges before the game:

You were right about the Giants winning and congradulations. Enjoy it.

I did not read or was in on that thread later..(I think..maybe at the start of it all...)...I do know in words (From the stands)..I listed all the positions and how the Giants were only at an advatage in a few places...but I also outlined a bit about how the Giants could win.... Pressuring Brady...slowing down the game..keeping the Pats off the field..long drives running game..(Keys...)
The Giants did what they needed to do..the Patriots could not..and even with the Pats taking the lead, it was a Manning drive that won it for them...Congrats!!

Thanks for the graciousness. Hell of a win, the Ginats earned it. Congrats.

I just ran into a friend of mine who I expected to gloat like no other, because he was trash talking SO much before the game. But he was just filled with joy and he was totally magnanimous toward the Patriots. Just the look on his face made me happy for him. I thought that that is how I must've looked and felt 6 years ago. It's hard to begrudge him that. And the Giants, unlike some others (cough: Colts, Bolts: cough), are a hard team to dislike.

Yup, the better team won that game. The GMen played out of their skulls, out executed and out coached the Pats. Congradulations on a very deserved championship.

I don't believe I posted in that thread but just the same.....

The Giants outplayed the Patriots. The team that played better won.

Yankees suck! (I had to add that. :) )

Congrats! Your team is the best in the NFL. no doubt. Giants deserve it. Thank you for shattering the "emperor's new clothes- perfect season - greatest team" nonsense. If it is to happen in the future the team obviously needs to be of a higher caliber than that of the 2007 pats (great offense and all).

The Giants were amazing! Congratulations!!

The Giants stepped up and played one heck of a game! I feel a little (very very very little) better about the whole thing because the Giants beat the number 1 and 2 teams in the NFC to get to the dance so it wasn't a fluke that they were there.

The Giants and their fans deserve the win. Played their hearts out. Congratulations.

I have rooted for the Giants to win in all but SB 42. I have liked that organization for a long time.

Congrats to all the fans.

Congrats to the team which pulled out a great victory in what some "experts" were calling the mismatch of all time. They beat us plain and simple.

I think the thing that motivated the Giants more than anything else was the underdog card. "look at them planning a victory parade" I cringed when I heard that and had a moment of doubt about the outcome. Lots of folks say teams don't need any extra motivation in the Super Bowl. But I've seen motivation win games--big games--many times.

The giants were the better team for that 60 mintute but i hope you do relise that the giants were3 missed INTs away from losing too. I blame the red hoodie

Thanks for all of the responses, you guys are good sport.... but I'm still waiting for WatsonIQ as the friendly wager was with him.... and also because he called me a troll. :D

Congratulations on a great win. Your defense dominated our O Line and you won. Great coaching by your staff, especially your defensive coord (too bad he'll be now coaching the Redskins, from what I hear .. deal not done yet, but only a matter of time)... Anyway, enjoy your win and hats off to Strahan, Osi, Tuck and especially Eli / Tyree for the "play of the century" that brought NE to its knees after its greatest single season performance.

Gotta say leek, I'm a little disappointed in Watson. I'll take the heat for him. Giants are a great team, played a great game, congrats again. And thanks for NOT being a troll.

I think I missed that thread too - but credit to the Giants...

I'll even take a bow for noting that - at the time that Coughlin gave his all against us in Week 17 that he was a "genius" (and yes I used that word) for taking such a strategy to give his team confidence going into the playoffs.

Even most Giants fans were cursing him for getting a few key players injured in that game - but such a momentum gamble was the only chance a mediocre team to that point had in the playoffs - and one can't argue with how it turned out.

If there had to be one team to beat the Patriots I'm glad it was the Giants. They were and have been my preferred NFC team since the 80s and they played great and deserve the win.

I suppose its too bad that some of the Giants players don't know how to be gracious winners - but that often happens with guys who have "never been there before" - same with some Giants fans who don't quite know how to behave... though returning like you did to "accept congratulations" in a respectable way is perfectly understandable.

Thanks. I would like to give him the benefit of the doubt and assume he has not noticed this thread... but as each day passes I'm finding it harder to do.

Come on WatsonIQ, where are you ?

....

Come on WatsonIQ, where are you ?

Should be still in mourning because I think WatsonIQ set up some kind of a record here for the max # of posts for the first month since he joined this forum. :D So, pretty sure that the silence is due to some good reason.

But hope you note that though some of us tried to set up a Giants' congratulations thread immediately after the game was over (it failed because of the server problems here I think), WatsonIQ was the first to set one up successfully on Monday.
