Belichick at 3

Posted by Mike Reiss, Globe Staff February 5, 2008 12:53 AM

Patriots coach Bill Belichick is scheduled to hold a season wrap-up conference call with the media Tuesday at 3 p.m. EST. The plan will be to post an update after the call.

I love BB & all, but he sucked royally on Sunday. He, and his staff (namely McDildohead), cost the Patriots the game. I still think he's an exceptional coach overall. He just laid an egg in the biggest game of his career.

Thanks for the input.

This from someone with the screen name "Real World"?

whoopty-doo. A whole lot of nothing will come out of this presser.

I wonder if he resigns?

Then it will hardly be a whole lot of nothing, will it.

ESPN is now reporting that the NFL is going to interview this former video assistant Matt Walsh.

Well, whatever happens happens. It's now the post season and doesn't affect our season anymore. Hopefully nothing comes of it. Possibly they'll screw Belichick - people in power, whether congress, commissioner or whoever, can do that if they want. Hopefully Walsh has no tape and it's he said-he said. If he has a tape it proves nothing but puts us in a very awkward situation. I personally don't think taping a walkthrough, if we did it, is that big a deal compared to a bunch of the cheating that's documented in NFL history. But that doesn't matter. If Goodall doesn't like what he hears and suspends Belichick that's, unfortunately his right - and I'm sure he'd get a lot of support from jealous owners. Should that happen, that's when I cancel NFL Sunday Ticket and save my $250 or so.

One thing everyone is overlooking (or ignoring) is that BB and THE PATRIOTS are good for the NFL.

Look at the increase in viewership for every game they're in. Look at the increased attention the NFL has gotten. Look at how NE/Indy or NE/SD or really...NE/anyone have become almost appointment viewing for the country.

One of my best friends is a Texan. Hardcore Cowboy fan. Hates the Pats. He's beginning to become a fan, just based on the constant barrage of negativity.

Not to gloss anything over--but the NFL would suffer far more in real economic terms were there no New England Patriot/Belichick boogeyman to kick around.

And I have no doubt Mr. Kraft has communicated something quite similar to Roger "dodger" Goodell.
Along with a few other tidbits, like "I helped make you, I can destroy you" and "do you like having that huge TV contract I negotiated?"

Bob Kraft didn't become a billionaire by being soft or stupid, despite his television appearance.

Ya know I have no idea what to expect, I guess I wouldn't be shocked if it turns out we did the whole taping of the walk through thing. BUT, if by chance nothing comes of this, if Matt Walsh has nothing on this team and it all dies away, I will be even more enraged, if that is possible, at John Tomase and the Herald for running with the story the day before the Super Bowl. I mean enraged will not even cover the feeling I will have.

Yeah, we'll never know what, if any, effect it had but TomASSe can kiss my ass. He proved himself to be nothing but a punk.

Has anything come from all the angry calls and emails? How about from the ESPN ommbudsperson?
