Read? It was Man Coverage. Inside leverage, do NOT get beat to the inside. Plax faked the Slant, and Hobbs has to honor it, or it's six that way, too.

It was a sell out blitz by Pees, and it hung Hobbs out to dry on Plax. Great call by the Giants and a bad one by the Pats. The blitz doesn't get home, and Eli just tosses it up.

Where's the mental error?

I'm not a big fan of Hobbs, I don't think he should be starting on this team but in regards to the final play on the Giants drive you're right, that was a terrible play call not Hobbs fault that resulted in the TD.

FOXSports.com's Alex Marvez reports Patriots CB/KR Ellis Hobbs will undergo surgery for a sports hernia and groin strain this offseason.
Hobbs was listed as questionable for the Divisional Round, but wasn't on the AFC Championship or Super Bowl injury reports. He reportedly aggravated the groin Sunday night. Hobbs is catching some criticism after being beaten by Plaxico Burress for the Super Bowl's game-winning score, but it's hard to imagine the 5'9/190-pound Hobbs having any chance against Burress, at 6'6/232, in a one-on-one matchup in the end zone. Especially with an injury.

Overall. Hobbs had a fine game. Samuel dropped the INT, but made an incredible play on a post route in the End Zone.

I wouldn't look so much at the Secondary as I would at the lack of a pass rush. A DB's best friend is a pass rush. The Giants got pressure with their blitzes and the Pats did not. When they did, Manning avoided the rush. Frankly, the Pats Offense got outcoached.

The loss of Colvin was absolutely huge, in many ways. It hurts Vrabel, it takes Thomas out at ILB and forces Bruschi and Seau to play full time. All that, and a very good player is not in the lineup.

The thing that concerns me is the lack of young talent at OLB and ILB. None of them has been able to break the starting lineup.
