I for one am not going to take sh*t from any fans of the teams that the Pats beat this year. In my mind, it's twisted logic that these jealous haters feel like their team won last night. 18-1 means our team was better than every single team this year except for the Giants. I, like most of you here, feel like I did after Aaron Boone right now.

But that's because we were privileged enough to root for a team that had such unbelievably high expectations and still did something that no team has ever done before. Given our draft this year, and our schedule next season, you better believe that if any team could go 19-0, next year's Pats could do it.

So congratulations to the Giants and their fans, they played an amazing game. And the rest of America, you can still go eff yourself because the Pats will still beat the sh!t out of your team next year and your team will never taste 18-0. So keep talking sh!t and being jealous haters, and we'll keep rooting for the best team in the NFL.

Good post. Its sucks really bad, but like my sis said its not like we're saying goodbye to the patriots. You damn sure better believe the Pats will be contending next year!

no teams have any right to talk their smack. Not really even the Giants since you beat them in week 17. you have a lot of be proud of as a fan. I'm a Charger fan and was rooting against a perect season, not necessarily the Patriots. I don't EVER want another team to go 19-0 except the Chargers. I would have LOVED to see Jr. win one. Also, I would have been SICK hearing the "who's the best argument" for the entire year. It's just too much for the brain. lol.

as long as you have a QB named Brady and a coach named Belicheck then you'll ALWAYS be contenders.

Hear hear.

This absolutely sucks, but the vast majority of other teams are just hoping they can go 10-6 next year and maybe make the playoffs.

Thanks. Just as dumb as some trolls are to generalize about all Pats fans, the reverse is also not true. I don't have a problem with people rooting for the underdog and against the Pats for the reasons you listed, but it's absolutely pathetic that some fans of teams that went 4-12 this year or just lost to the Pats feel like they have one up on us.

18-0 and going to the Superbowl will always be better than going 4-12 and being classless enough to try and talk sh!t when the team whose stadium you rent beat the Pats in the Superbowl. Chant 18-1, I'll chant 4-12.

Other teams fans were just sick of Pats, Pats, Pats all season, so they're going to get their ya ya's out. You guys are STILL the team of the decade by a mile; 3-1 in Superbowls for the new millenium is something any fan would trade their house for.

As a fan of a division opponent, I DO hope that a crushing loss like this brings you down a few notches, but I'm not counting on it.

Great post. I have been saying the same thing- we ARE going 16-0 next year.

Right now it stings. But it stung for Dallas fans when Montana threw that pass into the end zone against them in the early 80s. It stung for the Dolphinsfans in '71 - we know the feeling.

However, growing up, the elite teams were always the 49ers, Cowboys, Giants and Redskins for so long. Teams that put the fear of God into their opponents' fan bases. I always wished to see the day the Pats could be an elite team like that which is expected to win.

We have reached that point. That expectation to win in the fan base and with the team and its ownership is exactly why this team will come back. They will adjust, they will find the right free agents - nobody in the AFC East will touch them for another 2-3 years (if that). They will be in it again. Probably next year, if not, then the year after that.

This is what happens when you are an elite team. That is what our hometown team now is.

Thank you for your honesty. I can understand hating the Pats, and being a Yankee hater I know why other fans hope the Pats lose. When the Yankees lost to the Marlins in the World Series I was happy, but would I go to Yankees fans and taunt them? No, that would be stupid, they made it there and the rest of the league, including the Red Sox didn't. It just shows how sad it is to root for a team as bad as the Jets, where this feels as close as it can feel to actually beating the Pats.

I strongly feel, that it's mostly the media's fault for constantly making the sensationalistic stories of perfection for the Pats.

I mean, if I didn't care for the Pats, I would be def. be a hater as well.

Just logical...

The media is the enemy.

Belichick clearly knows this from his press conferences.

It's the media...

BOTTOM LINE...

Tom Brady!

7 years as a starter = 5 AFC Championship Games
4 Superbowls
3 Superbowl Championships
2 Superbowl MVP's

Yeah, I like our chances :) (with or without Randy Moss as a WR. As long as we have Welker, a decent OL and a good running game, we will always be in it)

I agree 100%. Show me a fan base that wouldn't be confident having an 18-0 team heading to the Superbowl.

For the same reason I think hating Derek Jeter as a Sox fan is stupid, I think hating Brady is equally stupid. It's not Brady's fault that the media obsesses over him, so hate the media for constantly inundating the country with Brady coverage nonstop, but don't blame Brady for being great. Get sick of hearing about him, but don't hate on him or wish injury on him, that's just sorry.

16-0 again isn't impossible but I'll take 14-2 and a SB win. We'll be back ;)

Perhaps you haven't heard, Arlen Specter's trying to outlaw Bill Belichick.

Very true, the media keeps saying that this will haunt the Pats forever. If we win the SB and go 14-2 even next year, we'll still be a happy fan base with the best team in the NFL this decade, and everyone else will still be as bitter and jealous as they are now.

And on a side note, here's one more reminder of why Brady is better than Peyton: I didn't hear him throw the O line under the bus last night.

I don't think it will haunt them forever--more likely, it will fuel them for years to come. We saw how they responded last year after losing the AFCCG; what response will they have this year?

Besides, isn't the first year with a new offense the roughest? If I were the rest of the NFL, I'd be concerned about what happens when Brady, Moss, Welker, Gaffney, and friends really start getting used to each other.

He never has, and I hope he never will. He may yell at them on the field, but he certainly won't call them out in the media. That's why they (usually) fight so hard for him.

My sentiments exactly. I took today off from work and was hoping it would be to celebrate. I can't wait to go to work tomorrow. We have a Laotian kid that works there. He used to live in Cali, so wwhen we played SD he kept saying LT was gonna run all over us. All this week he was saying the Giants were going to kick our asses. He doesn't even really know alot about football. I know he'll start on me right away tomorrow. He's a great kid and funny as hell, but he has no idea how much of a die-hard I am. I'll knock his scrawny butt back to his homeland. Go Pats!

The really sad part is i think gostkowski could have made the kick. But obviously belichick didn't have the faith in the young man that he had in vinatieri. On that note thank god the colts got adam v just wish he was as good as when you guys had him.

This is how I - a Patriots fan- feel about Peyton Manning.

People say, "I hate him. He's in too many commercials." Well, he's in a lot of commercials because he gets asked to be in a lot of commercials. Does it make him evil that corporations think enough of him to want him associated with their product?
I just don't think being in commercials is an actual reason to hate a football player. Michael Jordan never got that kind of flack.
