5. Sour on Seymour

The Giants didn't have anything positive to say about Patriots defensive end Richard Seymour after their Super Bowl win. Apparently, Seymour told some New York offensive players that they "should be ready to go home" before their last drive. That comment irritated Toomer and it still bothered Giants running back Brandon Jacobs in the locker room.

"I'll give you a quote on Seymour," Jacobs said. "You can write that he's a soft [expletive]. He said we should get ready to go home. Well, now he's on the team that went 18-1."

Wow how can anyone like these guys

Re: Seymour told Giants D to go home before final drive..

Just typical poor sportsmanship from the Pats players. Glad to see them get it shoved down their throats for the second consecutive year by the Manning brothers.

Imagine that, the arrogant, kocky, full of themselves Patriots being on the losing end of the 2 biggest choke jobs in professional sports history (blowing the biggest lead in AFCC game history & now losing to a 14 point dog in the SB).

That is how history will remember the New England Patriots.:rocker:

Thats for sure....and the sad thing is there fans are good people (for the most part)

Re: Seymour told Giants D to go home before final drive..

the 2 main mantra's of the season: "Humble Pie" and "60 Minutes" were thrown out the window for the biggest game of them all. I will never forget that. It's the thing that would have prevented this, just one more "one game at a time." I will always love the Patriots, they have been a part of my life for over a quarter of a century. But I will never forget that.

Re: Seymour told Giants D to go home before final drive..

What a lame thread. Players always talk on the field, big effin deal. The sad thing is that any of the Giants would focus on THAT after the game. Wow--can you say one and done?

Re: Seymour told Giants D to go home before final drive..

Not smart comments from Richard at all.

But is this really any different than the yapping of the Giants all week long? The black suits? Of course not. THe difference is they won so now they are gloating.

THe disappointing thing is our players, unlike the Giants, don't make a habit of doing stuff like that.

Re: Seymour told Giants D to go home before final drive..

Are you kidding me "Poor sportsmanship" he was trash talking like get ready to pack your lunch cause your going to school etc. The Giants can talk now because they won but if you think none of the Giants talk your crazy, Strahan himself says he calls Runyan his A girl! This isn't little league where the other team claps if you make a play, you guys with this no class thing are out of control!

Re: Seymour told Giants D to go home before final drive..

Your right those saints in Pats uniforms are just representative of the word class:rolleyes:

Go to hell. Why are you even here? Just like our team, YOUR team didn't win sh!t. If the Jags played like the Giants did, the Jags might have beaten the Pats. But they didn't.

Isn't there a *********** on ESPN you can go join?

Players constantly yap at each other. Big deal. They won...why whine about what Sey said? Really?!

I saw some great sportsmanship by a Giants player late in the game. I'd have to see it again to give you the players number. But he tackled Welker, brought him down in nearly a choke hold and held Welker down long after the play in a choke hold. Looked like he was trying to rip his head off. But you won't hear Welker whine about it.

Oh, and I'm not a sore loser. Good for the Giants and their fans. It feels great to be on the winning end. But maybe they need to lose those rose colored glasses.

I don't believe dashoe is a Gints fan. He's the poster boy for the Assclown Forum over on the Planet. I think he's actually a pathetic 'Phins fan.

But yeah, :trolls:

Re: Seymour told Giants D to go home before final drive..

your fans have been some of the most pompous, arrogant fans I have ever seen. You gave the giants no shot, you post on other teams forums talking crap and everytime you guys won you guys had no problem dishing it. Now you guys can't handle when someone serves it right back.

Isn't that the definition of what all trolls are and do? LOL That's why you're self perpetuating, moron.

I thought you two losers were talking about the poor sportsmanship of the Giants.

What Seymour said on the field was tame by comparison to the things that are typically said. You guys are better off watching tennis, as long as you don't watch clips of McEnroe.

That being said, it typically shows how classless you are when you talk the trash the Giants are talking AFTER a win. The Patriots, after all the games they've won this decade, more than any other team, have NEVER trashed the losing side.

Apparently, the Giants are a bunch of classless trashtalkers.

Surely you didnt type that part with a straight face. Apparently you forgot all the smack after last year's game in SD....on the field, in the tunnel. How soon we forget. Typical New England hypocracy.

the pats are like any other team on the field

if you diss them leading up to a game, they're going to let you know about it during the game

the difference with the pats and other teams is, the pats don't run this kind of smack leading up to the actual games

on the field , all teams do this though

i'm sure the giants defenders were talking mad **** once they went up 10-7 and 17-14

that's what defensive players always do, it's their mindset

chargers do so much of that as well, hell PR is a qb and he makes a living talking smack when someone disses him during a game.

seymour obviously takes **** personally and uses it to up his game

if asante doesn't drop the gift int, people would be laughing their asses off about it , and rival fans who hate the pats would be pointing out how it's classless

but my guess is, if NY loses, brandon jacobs doesn't bring it up, cause he's probably not that much of a sore loser

Every team does this stuff... just like cheating.

There, I said it.

Nothing new there.

And if it is, then you just learned a new lesson.

Giants deserved the win.

The Pats didn't play good at all.

Bottom line.

Re: Seymour told Giants D to go home before final drive..

Honestly. The Giants played with the Chip on their shoulder the entire game. They played like the hungrier team, they played as if they wanted it more. They reminded me of the Broncos against the Packers. Just took it to the Favorite team and gave them 100% on all of the plays. The Pats should have won the game. They were the best team in Football for 18 games. They smoked and destroyed a lot of very good solid football teams along the way (I know, I watched and rooted against them). The Pats got away from what got them 3 rings.

1st. A running game and Clock management. Keeping the other team's offense off the field.
2nd. A solid defense that takes away what the other team does best. The Giants were able to run and pass all day when they "had to"
3rd. And most confusing, Special Teams and Big Kicks. 4th and 13, if Vinitari was the kicker, does Bill still go for it or does he kick it?

They got away from what got them the trophies before. That more than anything lead to the loss in my eyes.

The Giants won the freaking superbowl and your comment is "one and done." That's ridiculous.
