I was at a Sports bar yesterday so I wasn't paying that much attention at the end of the game, but I thought I saw Belichick shake hands with Coughlin. Now, I am reading he didn't. Did BB shake hands or not? I can't imagine him not doing that.

Good Heavens! He went tearing over to C with about a second left on the clock and hugged him. I couldn't swear to whether their hands touched or not.

Belichick shook Coughlin's hand and hugged him as well, then left the field.

The truth never got in the way of what they want to report! he hugged him.

It's really incredible how much the press still hates us that this would be reported the way it was.

I was there and watched the whole thing. After the last patriots play, Belichick went to midfield and hugged Caughlin and talked to a couple of players. Then the yellow rope guys started coming out, and the Patriots walked toward their locker room.

Carey and the rest of the refs huddled and decided that the game couldn't end. The Patriots players had to run back out of the tunnel to run the last kneel down play.

Yeah, the piss ant haters can kiss my ass. I guess a hug isn't good enough now if you incorrectly think the game is over but there's really 2 seconds left

Definitely an embrace with a little b.s.'ing.

In hindsight I think BB went onto the field to congradulate the opposing coach and team and then left the field a little early.

Moss got a lot of flack a few years ago for doing similar.

He got a handshake and huge from Belly

This one is unexplainable. BB conceded with 2 secs to go and initiated running across the field. He did congratulate Coughlin. When have you seen the NFL demand that a play be run under those circumstances? How many times have you seen games end that way? I am not a conspiracy guy but I think this was the NFL’s twisting the knife!

I never have seen a team concede early and leave while there is time still on the clock.
I have never seen a game where the refs have said, hey there is only 2 seconds left, lets just call it a game and go home.

I've seen it several times, actually.

A coach cannot concede a game, unless by forfeit.

This is a sad attempt to spin something.

Belichick looked up at the clock and it read ZERO. A NFL secuirty guy held him by the arm as he escorted Belichick to midfield. As BB hugged Coughlin, the refs were conferring about adding time to the clock. As Belichick was congratulating individual Giants, the refs added time to the clock. He was running off the field at that point.

Seau said that he was already at his locker when someone from the league told him they needed the Patriots out there to run another play. We're not privy to wheter Belichick was told or whether he decided not to come back out, whatever.

Spin,,,I call Spin on you.

I don't think BB meant to leave early, but he sure as hell did, something that Moss was cruxified for doing while he was a Vike.

Not that a big deal should be made out of this.

We can only speculate. He might have thought the game was officially over for all we know. While he probably should have waited the last 2 seconds before leaving the field, I don't think it's all big of a deal as people are making it out to be. He's never been known for his sportsmanship (from the outside perspective, I must admit I see him maybe 3 times a year). However, there is no other coach I would rather have because as we saw, he cares about the game probably more than most of the players. Obviously losing doesn't suite him well and it shouldn't.

You compared it to Moss. Big difference. The clock read ZERO when Belichick was running out there. Moss left while the game was still being played. Heck, Belichick didn't even run to the locker room. He went out to congratulate Coughlin.

You're just trying to spin this in the worst possible light by comparing it to Moss and then saying Moss was crucified.

I see your point, and I should probaly not of even commented.

However, I stand by my statements.

Ok I concede that 'concede' is a bad choice of words.

I have seen where there are seconds ticking off the clock and the losing coach start his walk toward midfield.

I don't think BB did anything differently then that..

this is a non-event that the NFL turned into something and i am saying there may have been a motive.

Why are you here?

I heard that the clock in the stadium ran down to zero before BB ran out. Then the refs put 2 seconds back on, which necessitated the final kneeldown. I think the refs acted correctly, but it helps explain why BB ran out when he did.
