From PFT:

JAWS IS "OKAY WITH IT"

In an admission that left us as apoplectic (thanks, Tiki) as Jerry Seinfeld when he found out that, as to a certain indecent proposal he made to a girlfriend, "she's into it," ESPN's Ron Jaworski has no qualms with an NFL team sneaking into an opponents' practice and videotaping the plays.

"I'm okay with it," Jaworski said during the network's three-hour pre-game extravaganza.

WHAT?!?!?!?!

Jaws' justification? "It's going on."

Okay, Jaws. Murder is "going on," too. Should it be legalized? Plenty of bad things are "going on." Does that make them okay?

Sure, those examples are extreme. But they are the logical application of Jaworski's shrug-of-the-shoulder approach to practices that are, and should be, forbidden.

Look, Jaws is great with the X's and O's and, even though his speaking style is at times annoying and repetitive, he does a nice job on Monday Night Football. But these beliefs suggest to us that the man has at some point lost his soul.

How can he be "okay with it"? It's cheating and it's wrong. The notion that it's okay because everyone does it is a horrible example to set for our kids, and it's a very weak way to defend the indefensible.

Get over it Mike. If it was the Colts instead of the Patriots, that would be the same reaction from much of the media.

Hahaha I love how he pulls out the "example for our kids" card.

Florio is riding high on the hog right now, but the wheel of fortune has a way of turning. He is drawing alot of attention to himself, and the microscope will focus on him shortly.

I like how Florio says "those examples are extreme" and then proceeds (ignoring the fact that, yes, those examples are ridiculous) to call comparing murder to stealing signals a "logical application" and proposes that Jaws holds the same attitude towards people killing each other as he does to teams spying on each other's practices in sports. Florio has his high points and his low points, but that post is definitely a low point... I mean, what the hell?

Florio also loses credibility in my eyes simply because he's never played nor coached (nor even worked in an official capacity, nor covered in any official capacity) in the NFL at all. All he has are vast multitudes of unnamed sources which tell him things like "Terry Bradshaw is dead." There are certain things I trust internet writers on (because they tend to be intelligent, something ex-NFL players rarely are, though Ron Jaworski is a notable exception), and certain things I'll trust ex-NFLers on.

Murder???????? Hyperbole much Florio

Jeez...In a span of 3 hours videogate has been compared to stealing cars (Specter) and murder (Florio). Get some freekin' perspective.

This is how the talking heads will keeps this story alive, every time someone who knows what they are talking about and comes clean and says yeah this is something that goes on and I've done it, it's common practice they're going to act like they just admitted they are serial killers or something so they can ignore the message and keep talking about spygate.

Last time I checked murder was a fellony. What the Pats did isn't even legally a crime.

A better example to videotaping signals is "every goes faster than the speed limit" or "every lies about how much they donate for their taxes". No one is standing on the highway trying to stop people from going 75 when the speed limit is 65. No one looks down on you if you say you went 40 in a 35 MPH zone.

I have no problem with that. If we're crucifying the Pats, lets open up the whole damn thing. Is the media trying to purify the game or find someone to hate now? You tell me.

Would you people PLEASE, for the love of god, STOP giving that guys stupid website hits?

Honestly, what Florio wrote about Jaws was truly pathetic. I've gone from thinking Florio is just an attention-whoring troll to believing he is a sociopath. Why does he has to defame anyone who disagrees with him? Comparing STEALING SIGNALS to TAKING ANOTHER PERSON'S LIFE??

Florio's a joke. Who does he think we'll trust on this issue? A guy who played the game and remains a highly-respected analyst or Florio? Who the hell is Florio anyway?

Don't forget that nutjob senator comparing the destruction of the game day tapes to the destroying of the CIA tapes

I think there's a massive loss of common sense going on in America.

If more of these a-holes were truly concerned with murderers who get off and protecting the children who lose their fathers to actual criminal behavior here and abroad, and a little less concerned with the NFL's longstanding documented lack of soul, the world would be a better place, for sure.

Mike acts like a kid who just found out there really never was a Santa Claus. This is what happens when mediots and fanboy lawyer mediot wannabes dig too deep into something they only ever watched from afar and never ever really remotely understood.

Florio's been off the deep end for a while now. That Walsh quote about not having a conscience because of the people he worked with and what they made him do, are completely OVER THE TOP. Unless the Pats had Walsh killing people...

Hey maybe the Pats know where Whitey Bulger is.

lets face it. the pats got over. there's nothing anyone can do now. it's history. they can talk about it all they want. the fact of the matter is the patriots won the superbowl. there is NOtHING that's going to change that.

This is the best thing that happened to the Pats. Just think of the motivational speech Belichick is giving the team with all this crap and veteran players from those past Superbowls.
