Unfortunately, this isn't a rumor that Tomase cooked up for site hits the day before the superbowl. According to other reports, this rumor has been floating around for months and Goodell even looked into it specifically back around the time of the Jets game.

As unfortunate as it is, Tomase is just the first media person to get wind of this story.

Yep.. this crap is out of control. Not one of these media outlets used any facts, just more smear campaigns. I can't stand it any longer. That pats should sue every one of them.. F'em all! That's my phrase of the day.

My suggestion is that you don't let this ruin your SB experience. Its no different then all the other crap we have had to put up with all year so just throw this on the pile, turn your back on it and smile at what this team will hopefully accomplish tomorrow.

I have always looked at that goober as a piece of manure...always!!! I think all fans should give him a piece of their mind..and HOW ANYONE...and there have been some on this board...thinks he's anywhere in Reiss's ball park are NUTS!! I can tell you IF I ever ran into him he'd walk away fast... BOYCOTT that trash rag HERALD.... If Tomase is on the show bombard it with e-mails... what editor ALLOWS a rumor...ONE source..the ONLY one...as fact?? One that has failed journalism 101...find out who teh editor is and se3e the e-mails pile up...and the same for the head one..what kind of a rag is the Herald?? I doubt it, since as you say the rumor's been around for a while. My guess is no one wanted to run with it until they could get at least another source to support. Tomase ran with it anyway.

Has anyone thought of calling the Herald's "News Desk?" There is usually a live editor there. I say let him have it.
This is sickening, and yes, it is "Tainting" what should be our greatest weekend ever.
I think it is time for us fans to start attacking back. We spend the money, we keep the products that they sell alive. Newspapers, Magazine's, ratings etc.

I'm sorry, but Tomase is just doing his job. I am guessing it is Matt Walsh being the unnamed source and is trying to save face since he is looking like the disgruntled fired employee he probably is. The timing sucks and he made a rumor that has been around for years into a new story. But if he gets someone who will confirm the rumor as an unnamed source, he has the right to report it no matter how much none of us like it.
