Is the media killing your Pre-SB buzz?

A couple days ago, I was about as pumped as I've ever been for a game...but this whole media BS, the whole spygate crap, re-opening this BS, the absurdity of Spector, the pathetic story-whore-ing of Matt Walsh, Tomase's crap, PFT, the media painting the Pats a certain way, all the hypocrisy and BS...I'm just sick of it. I can't put up with the idiocy, people calling us cheaters without even knowing what they're talking about, saying this that or another thing is tainted...I'm tired and exhausted of it. For me, it's really taken away a lot of the anticipation for tomorrow nite's game, and I'm just pretty friggin pissed about that. I don't know why, it's just so damn frustrating, we can't get away from this stuff, people just love to hate us, love to bring the Pats down...It's just a damn buzzkill.

Anyone else feeling the same way? Somebody say something to get me fired up for tomorrow nite again.

Not at all. Well...actually it gets me a little pissed to see all the talking about it on here and how much attention the media gets when a rumor starts swirling. But thats just the way it is, cant do anything about it.

18-0 with a chance to go 19-0 in the SB. Very little can dampen by excitement.

I wish I could but I feel exactly the same way you do. You can't avoid it. If I even log in to check my damn email, msn has a "New Spying allegations?" headline, which makes it sound like it is recent, and not something that may or may not have happened six years ago.

Like you, I am sick and tired of it. I can't wait for the season to be over. I'll always be a Pats fan, but I am going to reevaluate just how much energy I pour into this stuff. Sorry, NFL. Eventually, you'll be the real losers here.

I wish I could feel the same way as you guys above, I slowly adopted that attitude the last time this was around. It's just annoying that we can't just talk about football anymore, all the folks that hate us in the media, and there's a lot, all the ex-athletes, they are going to bring this up and try and rain on our parade. For me, it's working. Hearing Steve Young and his stupidity (honestly, this guy is dumb as bricks), I just know anytime we turn on the TV between now and the game, we're going to hear the same BS rhetoric. I want Super Bowl HYPE, football hype, not spygate 2.0

The best word for what I'm feeling is deflating. I'm not going to re-think the amount of energy I put into rooting for the Pats, but I agree with your other feelings. It's just a pain in the ass, and it's just discouraging to know we can't get away from this BS. I dunno, I just can't get back into that hyped up mode b/c I know this gossipy crap is going to follow us around all off-season.

It is killing my buzz! I'm actually pissed. I am more pissed at the Tomase (arsehole) piece than that old conversative -comcast mouth-piece - disgruntled Eagles fan, Spector.

What is Tomase doing, channeling his inner Will McDonough? I am fed up with the media trying to be the story. I am sick of the media trying to break a story at all costs. The timing is abysmal. Why now? Could you print the piece on Monday? The ego of the media is outrageous and I for one am sick of it.

Like I said in the other thread, if it weren't for spygate, they wouldve found something else to whine about. They wouldve found another tuck rule or defensive holding vs indy/rams complaint to blow out of proportion. Look at the ravens game and how many people whining about a def holding that was called CORRECTLY. No matter WHAT the patriots do, people are going to pick on something to blow into something that its not or taint the achievement. They wouldn't pick on us if we weren't that damn good. So just embrace the hate, the reality is if we win that game there's nothing about 19-0 and 4 super bowl rings that anybody can take away.

I am feeling extremely frustrated, annoyed, and angry. I keep trying to just get away from it all, but the Superbowl is tom.!!! It's impossible to get away from football bc the very thing that we all have been looking forward to since the beginning of the season (hell, I'd say since the end of last season) is tomorrow!
BUT, tomorrow night, come Superbowl time, all you need to do to get pumped is look into the eyes of this team and its players. See the fire that will be BLAZING and know that you are about to see something you will NEVER forget and as much as some ppl are trying, they won't be able to take that away from you or this team.

Yeah, I know. But I would give anything to be in the inner circle of the Patriot organization right now to see what they are really saying about this. Not the watered down stuff they have to say to the media vultures. And I don't mean Spectre, I mean Walsh.

Ah, whatever. I spend too much time on the internet. It is comforting to know this little microcosm on the internet has very little to do with real life. Boneheaded trollish fans of other teams on messageboards are definitely not representative of the average person.
