Say what you will, but the Giant's have always been a class organization. Why would a writer even make this a story? Every down has the potential the injure a player. To write this only succeeds to fuel a fire should an act of controlled violence result in an injury. It's even more absurd that a home town writer would prep a scenario that can only cast a negative light on the Giants in the event something happens.

Bondy should stick to what he does best...I mean what he's used to...I mean what his bosses have reduced him to before they fire him for failing at covering what no one cares about, soccer.

I wonder why he didn't ask about the ethics if the Pats adding a little extra twist to Plax's ankle and knee when they tackle him?

The article is classless but you can be sure both teams will take their shots when they have the chance.

You are just as irresponsible as the author of the article. Do you have ANY proof that this happens? Nope. You don't. Otherwise you'd have actually posted a link to a film clip.

No I don't. All I have are various interviews on Sirius Radio with current and former NFL players over the past 2 weeks talking about how players target players when they know they're hurting. Sorry I can't provide a link to that.

You can of course believe me or feel free to call me a liar. Personally I don't give a ***** what you think.

Actually, that is exactly why the players WON'T take cheap shots, they know they are one cheap shot away from having their own careers ended. Defensive linemen are esspecially exposed.

I think that is different then what this article is claiming. The article is advocating purposely injuring a player. I have never heard a player, in today's game, claim that they actively do anything like that.

Selfish arseholes typically don't care what others think. But I think its hilarious that you are sitting there saying that the Pats will INTENTIONALLY try to injure Burress further, though you have no proof of it.

The Patriots aren't like former Jets player Kevin Mawae. Are there extra-curricular activities that go on during the games? Yes. Particularly amongst the O-line and D-linemen. But the funny thing about that is that its typically the O-line doing it to the D-line. That's why it was so laughable when Hardwick complained about Seymour doing things.

Also, I think that the Pats LOVE playing against the other team's best players and purposely DON'T try to hurt them. That way the other team and the other team's fans don't have an excuse as to why they lost.

Cramden, your argument falls on its face. First, you say this:
I wonder why he didn't ask about the ethics of the Pats adding a little extra twist to Plax's ankle and knee when they tackle him?

Then you back that up with this 'evidence':
No I don't. All I have are various interviews on Sirius Radio with current and former NFL players over the past 2 weeks talking about how players target players when they know they're hurting. Sorry I can't provide a link to that.

I don't care about a link, that wouldn't matter in the least. I care about the fact that you're saying the Patriots have attempted to hurt Plaxico in the past, but back that up with some quotes about the fact that NFL players target injured opponents.

As I said, your argument falls on its face, and I'd thank you to not make allegations about an individual team when your 'evidence' is nothing more than broad, generalized quotes covering the entirity of the NFL.

A blatant cheap shot isn't what I'm talking about. But do players give an extra little twist at the bottom of a pile or when they're making a tackle when they know someone is banged up? You betcha.

First of all, I'm not saying the Pats are going to do anything or have a history of doing that, but according to actual NFL players in interviews I heard over the past 2 weeks it does go on. Sorry if you assumed I was implying the Pats are dirty in any way or plan on targeting Burress.

Secondly, whats with the personal attack? Classy.

Unfortunately, I can not state what I would do to this man if I was fortunate enough to cross paths with him on this board.

Since when did it become ok for a nerd sports writer to encourage purposefully injuring someone? I'd be willing to bet this writer is NOT in Arizona covering the SB. He'd need body-guards.

I am just treating you the way you deserve. However, I thought you didn't care what other people think? Yet you start to b!tch about being called a selfish arsehole? That's classic.

And, yes, you DID imply that the Patrots are dirty and would plan on targeting Burress. It was no assumption on my part. Or do you not bother to actually read what you posted? Or do you just not have great reading comprehension?

Maybe you misunderstood me or I didn't make myself clear enough. I'm not saying the Pats ever would try to hurt Burress. The author was bringing up the point of the strategic benefit of targeting an injured player, using Brady as an example. My point was the same could be done with Burress's injury but he chose to pander to his target audience of Giant fans by omitting that point.

My fellow Patriot fans and the poor Giant fans on this thread...we can end this discussion very quickly by mentioning the fact that Tom Brady will not be taken out of the game...PERIOD. I guarantee that can't & wont happen.

But by all means, continue to discuss this foolish topic, don't mind me but I've got some important super bowl issues to check out. This is just kids talk.

Good call. I'm out of this thread. We all have much more important things on our plates. Apologies if I offended anyone.

Not only that, but some crazy fan could always make a Giants family member appear on the side of a milk carton. It would be a stupid move for who ever does it.

Alright, well sorry for the post, but in all honesty you didn't make that too clear in your original post--and the 4 quick replies to what you said back me up on that.

As you said, this is of minimal (if any) importance.

'Move along, there's nothing to see here.'

I didn't start it as a foolish topic. And since Eisenhower was president when I was born it wasn't intended to start a preschool argument.

What it does is strengthen my thought that an article like this is why should in the course of a game should something happen the match was already lit and how a game that should, all ranking back and forth aside, should be enjoyed for the sport it is. It's articles like this that blurs the majesty of the game and turns what should be a distraction to the day to day events we call life into a bitter "take no prisoners" attitude that denigrates the game.

I presume you mean "Most irresponsible SPORTS article I've seen in some time"

If not, you either need to start reading something besides sports articles, and/or get involved in the real world. This is, after all, only about football.

Thanks for the reality check junior. I forgot I was on a Patriots forum. Did you post that because you constantly get pwnd for trying to act like an adult on the myspace political forum?

Stupid is as stupid does.
