I really hate to bring this up today, but in light of the blatant attack on the Pats and the NFL by a Fool tool POL from PA, where are our big named elected officials in all of this? Why haven't they come forward and supported us? Why haven't at least one of them just stood tall and told Spector to SHADDUP YOU FREAKIN STOOGE WORM OF A MAN! Spector needs to be embarressd publicly by some well known names now.

they're all waiting to see what obama says first.

Too early. You let Spector talk battle it out with the media then in a week you slap him down with, "unlike Senator Spector we are going to focus on the terrorism"

Telling someone to shut up never works, headline "Kerry threatens Spector in spygate matter" only aids the idiot. Let him have as much rope as he wants, he will hang himself.

Yeah, that'd work.

Exactly. I couldn't have written it better myself.

Sit back and watch Arlen Specter commit auto-asphyxiation.

This, actually, is causing a measure of national SYMPATHY for the New England Patriots. Arlen Specter is a miracle worker!

Oh, and by the way, I've just contacted Verizon FIOS and am switching over to them on Monday.

Yeah, that'd work.

I guess you would rather take the passive lay down and die approch then:rolleyes: Not me, this clown attacked us and now deserve's some retribution.

Specter is screaming from the top of his lungs while riding around in the Hindenburg moments before it exploded into flames. There is no political gain by being anywhere near this idiot.

John Kerry is better connected to the Steelers through his idiot wife.

Kennedy is no Bob Kraft fan. Plus, I guarantee you he couldn't name one Patriot, past or present, without a script.

Mass pols would actually LOVE to see Kraft fail! Historically, he hasn't greased enough palms.

No, it's called the givehimmorerope approach!;)

People need to stop and think who is the ranking majority leader of the Judiciary committee? The state should tell you how far this will go.

There's bound to be a few Football fan politicians; but I have to agree with Slagathor. Kerry and Kennedy only know yacht races and Polo. Kennedy is on tape GIGANTICALLY botching MacGuire and Soza's names during the home run chase. This was back when they were heroes and not steroid chomping cheaters.

Maybe Capuano over in the house. He's from Somerville anyway.

Several comments have been made out here about the relationship between Bob Kraft and Massachusetts politicians. Attached please find Opensecrets.org's records of the political contributions of Robert, Myra and Jonathan Kraft (the data might pick up a couple of people with similar names). The data base also claims to pick up "Soft Money." Given the family's wealth and position, the giving might be a little less than one would expect, but the total of nearly $200,000 suggests that they will have a few friends in Washington if push comes to shove. They have been more generous to the Republican Party in recent years.

They clearly reserve their giving for their extensive philanthropies, which are much more deserving than politicians.

Note to Moderator: Opensecrets.org is a webpage sponsored by The Center for Responsive Politics. All information provided is public data under Federal and State Elections laws. Check it out. Also, it's kind of fun. You can find out which of your friends has given money to which politicians over the last 20 years.

Because any policitian that gets involved in NFL matters that aren't even illegal, is a moron. Why would I vote for anyone that is supposed to be busy and involved in things to help the state, but instead wastes his/her time trying to screw over a sports team from another state or "protect" a team from his state?

If he was trying to do something to keep the team in the state and maybe help the state's economy, then that's a different matter and could be seen as doing his/her job.

However, if the Chairman Leahy is from Vermont, doesn't that automatically make him a New York fan?

Look, the whole "why didn't you answer my letter"/"what letter?", 2 days before the game scenario pretty much says it all. It's classic "drop the bomb right before the election" stuff, translated to football. Maximum exposure for... what?

I mean, what's Spector even got? Dumb ass rhetoric about what the people have a right to know la la la?

This isn't freaking Watergate. It's a commissioner who has taken disciplinary action. Spector (regardless of the Comcast angle), represents Stillers and Iggles fans. This will get him a huge bump in the polls, just "fighting the good fight."

He'll look like an idiot soon enough, especially if there's something of actual import going through Judiciary anytime shortly thereafter. I can just see Spector trying to get this bullstuff on the calendar ahead of something of some real substance... apply the "Front Page" test, and voila. Right now he's trying to get a cheap bump - and maybe scratching Comcast's back - with a sports page stunt.

Um, the real story's not in Pennsylvania or Washington, dude. It's in Arizona. I think everybody knows it too.

PS, and put it together with Upshaw taking a moment out to say "if something bad happens in November, why, there'll be hell to pay in 2010!" and a pattern emerges.

This is the time to double or triple your NFL-related grandstanding. Strike while the iron is hot... and everybody will forget it a week later.

What does not make sense is the notion that Goodell did not respond back to Specter because he wanted this to blow up on him 2 days before game, and with himself on the hot seat at his annual state of the league address on Friday. He can't be that dumb or devious?
