Patsfans Embrace the Hate!

Sorry, just have to get this off my chest... As a Patriot fan I can do nothing but embrace the hate just like the Oakland Raiders embrace their nasty image. So to all you fans of the other 31 out there: We're the Patriots. We're gonna do whatever it takes to run your team off the field. Call us cheaters. You'll just sound ignorant to us and we'll just call you losers. We're at our fourth Super Bowl in seven years. And guess what, we could very well be back there next year. We can lose Asante, Bruschi, Seau and Rodney and we're still gonna cream your team. Enjoy the offseason when hope springs eternal. You've got about six more months before you have to lose to us again.

Re: Patsfans Embrace the Hate!

Oh I do I live in PA so i get it worse than most I rock my superbowl champions jacket in philly too.

Re: Patsfans Embrace the Hate!

I'm sick and tired of the whining, the questionable reporting, the speculations, the accusations. The well timed appearance of Ratt Walsh and Arlen Specter only drives the point home, this is not about cheating, being the good guy, getting the bad guy... this is about personal satisfaction and jealousy. If it was about anything else, all this would have come to light in September, not 2 days before the coronation of the greatest ever. It's truly remarkable, the spirit (or lack thereof) of the human race, in this "culture of hate" that has become prevelant in the "information age", or internet era.

So I too embrace it. Bring it on, because its with us for life.

F*CK THE WORLD

I say give me a few years to savor 19-0, then bring on a big honking asteroid to make it permanent :D

To look at it another way, consider this: how often do we as sports fans in America say that this player or that team had a great comeback? Almost never; instead it is this team or that player "choked". The big story is on ateam losing (choking) rather than celebrating the greatness of the other team winning.

Another example would be how much attention goes to players getting in trouble (Adam Jones, Terry Johnson, Chris Henry) and how little goes to those who give back to the community (Warrick Dunn, Derrick Brooks). For every story about Bill Belichick and the work he does with Jim Brown for gang members in prison, there's about a thousand negative ones ranging from his attire to his answers at press conferences to his decision that Bernie Kosar was not the QB of the future in Cleveland.

It's an American epedemic; look no further than the popularity of all the hollywood - entertainment - gossip magazines and television shows; they thrive on distress and failure rather than uplifting and successful stories - unless they can show success to the point of excess - and they wouldn't survive unless a lot of people were watching, listening and reading.

JUst win this next game....

Then it's 19-0 and we can tell them all where to go....

That's funny! I don't care who you are.:D

Re: Patsfans Embrace the Hate!

I never thought I'd wake up this morning and have to be repeating this to myself even moreso. I want to beat the Giants by 50 points now. Humiliate them!

Re: Patsfans Embrace the Hate!

I agree embrace the hate.

You are what you are, 18-0, probably win another SB. That's not a bad thing.

The hate is as likely to stop as you guys becoming Jet fans, I see you Pats fans as having little choice but to embrace the hate while you polish your Tom Brady bobble heads.

Most all this hate stems from jealousy anyway.

Re: Patsfans Embrace the Hate!

To be honest, I'm so glad to be a fan of this team, and be able to witness and enjoy this unbelievable team/season rather than someone who is searching in paranoia for something to make themselves feel better about their own team/season....GO PATS!!!

Re: Patsfans Embrace the Hate!

I've always believed the level of dislike from the rest of the league and their fans directly correlates to success.

Look at the Yankees, and now even the Red Sox. Duke men's basketball. The Celtics of the 80's. Now the Patriots. It is always frustrating to know your team never had a chance, and when the theme repeats itself over and over, you become bitter and will anxiously wait for anything that will knock the dominant team off the pedestal.

I hate to say it's human nature, especially common in those who haven't found success themselves.

Is there any dynasty in the last 20 years or more that is considered "loved" by anyone outside of their own fans?

Re: Patsfans Embrace the Hate!

Yep Jetsboy, you guys rooting for the 31 lesser teams in the league just bought yourselves another three or four years of well deserved ignominy by dint of this week's events. No doubt. 19-0 this year... and you really think next year's going to be a good time to play us?

Keep it up, guys! The best team that's ever played the game... and you guys want to give them more bulletin board material?

Hope you get a decent baseball team then :)

Re: Patsfans Embrace the Hate!

Hey someone stole my sig. I should have copywrited it. I'll have to come up with a new one "19 and 0 Embrace the Hate". That should do. :rocker:

Re: Patsfans Embrace the Hate!

I think someone should make up some bumper/window stickers.

Patriots '07. Embrace the Hate

I'd probably get my car keyed around here, but it would be worth every penny of my insurance company's money. :rocker:

'08 Embrace the Hate

Re: Patsfans Embrace the Hate!

It's about time that we all
"EMBRACE THE HATE"

:rocker:

Re: Patsfans Embrace the Hate!

I;ve said this before, but in the current climate it bears repeating. To quote Denzel Washington in Training Day:

"F**k Em, and Everybody who look like em"

Sorry if this isn't a relevant topic for a thread, but I feel with all the play these new allegations are getting it does have relevance.

First, it bothers me that, waking up bright and early at 7am to digest as much Super Bowl coverage as possible, all I get is spygate, Walsh and Specter. From Easterbrook to Mike and Mike to Sportscenter, this is all they're talking about. I know, I should be avoiding these idiots, but at the same time this is the mainstream media...they're talking about suspensions, Super Bowls being taken away, etc, all on the day of the Super Bowl, when that same team they're vilifying has a chance to make history.

It makes me sad that the team in 2001, a fantastic group of individuals who played like a team of champions when it most mattered, is being dragged through the mud as though they're nothing more than a bunch of cheating, dispicible individuals. What they did was amazing, and yet their legacy is quickly changing.

The unfortunate part in all of this is that legacies are changing, whether we like it or not. Regardless of facts and evidence, the Patriots will now be known as the team that created a dynasty through illegal activities, and it makes me mad for all the fans of the team and, especially, for the players who worked their tails off to get where we are now. And the level of irresponsible journalism is killing any chance these Patriots have of getting a fair shake in the court of public opinion. There's no evidence of taping of the Rams walkthrough, only words from a former (fired) employee, and yet it's being discussed as though it happened and (on top of that) clearly had a huge impact in the game.

Anyway, I'm sitting here watching this crap and it's making me both sad and sick, because these players don't deserve this. As the idiots on Mike and Mike said, regardless of the outcome tonight this story will be back in full force tomorrow. Whether the allegations are true or not, the unwritten legacy of these Patriots is changing in front of our eyes.
