Merc can probably hook you with something that can knock you out until Sunday.

Nobody outside of Miami will care about Mercury Morris after this season.

He's just milking his celebrity while it lasts.

He's just grasping at his last fading shreds of relevancy. After Sunday, he's just another old retired football player.

T minus about 74 hours until he no longer matters. I will be so happy.

The fear that haunts my dreams at night is not even the Giants winning the game, the Giants celebrating on the field, or having to put up with New Yorkers..

It's the fact that somewhere those old jerks would be sipping champagne.

London Fletcher was on ESPN I think (still *****ing about the tuck rule), hates the Pats but wants them to win to shut Mercury up. I thought it was pretty funny.

i stopped listening to sports radio this week, because i was sick of hearing the same thing over and over again

After the Pats win on Sunday I can picture Mercury now: holding a 16oz can of Schlitz and doing the chicken dance while shouting "It's still our house, damnit!".

he was on fox sports radio today talking to chris myers about how they will always be the first team to ever go unbeaten in a season. he still is trying to downplay the patriots

After Sunday, he will be irrelevant and his buffoonery will no longer make him credible.

Wouldn't it be great if Seseme Street had both Tom Brady and Mercury Morris on?

[Tom Brady, singing]:

"Oh, who are the people in your neighborhood?
"In your neighborhood?
"In your neighborhood?
"Say, who are the people in your neighborhood?
"The people that you meet each day

(Mecury Morris walks onstage)

[Tom]: "Oh, Hi there, little fella!

[Mercury]: "Hello.

[Tom]: "Hey, listen, Mercury, do know what this is?

[Mercury]"I... I think its a football helmet.

[Tom]: "That's right! It's a New England Patriots helmet. And I'll bet you're seeing lots of them these days.... because.....

[Tom, singing again]:

"'Cause a Patriot's a person in your neighborhood
"In your neighborhood
"He's in your neighborhood
"A Patriot's a person in your neighborhood
"He's a person that you meet
"When you're walking down the street,
"He's a person that you meet, each, dayyyyyyyyy!"

And to think I wanted the Pats to sign him this past offseason...that's too bad. We had to settle for Adalius Thomas instead. :D

This made me laugh outloud. Awesome.

The good news is that if the Pats win, Morris will probably be out of the public eye forever. If the Pats lose, he will probably be out of the public eye for a very long time after about a week of him gloating.

your can't stand him, yet you start a thread about him

I agree tho, but I won't start a thread about it unless it's about him becoming a mute.

Well, this is the country that gave the world Britney, Paris, and Lindsay. We never tire of irrelevant people, let alone people like Mercury that actually accomplished something.

Everything is in our faces in this country because we're TV-aholics and we consume whatever is advertised in our faces.

Once you consume, they will dictate what you consume.

Personally, I listen to very little talk radio now. I just don't. Tuning in is our choice. Tuning out is our choice. If we tune out, Merc cannot reach us.

They don't do that.

Myth.

There is no concerted planning for a "Last team to lose has lost" party, but the ones that live near each other in Florida have admitted that they do 'celebrate' when the last team does lose.

Not Myth.
