Lousy day at practice.

Here’s a quick note — apparently the Patriots practiced really poorly yesterday. Word around the team was that things got so bad, midway through the session, head coach Bill Belichick pulled everyone off the field. The pool report noted that the passing game in particular was in a funk.

I'm almost positive he said it about his first day back at full practice (due to ankle speculation). Which would have been monday.

I'm a little unhappy to hear that, but, in the grand scheme of things, words like "lousy" and "funk" aren't very specific. In any case, I still can't see them coming out flat on Sunday.

I think it's all relative. Randy Cross said the Patriots' practice he saw on the second or third day of Training Camp featured the kind of execution you'd expect from a team practicing for a playoff game. Without wanting to sound too much like a fanboy, I think the Patriots' practice standards are higher than other teams.
