The Official: Countdown to Kickoff and I'm getting nervous thread

As I post this thread there is 82 hours left until the 6:18PM Sunday kickoff.

I feel confident in a Patriots win, however I can feel some anxiety which I know will keep building until the kickoff.

So, I made this thread for people to post if they are getting nervous as the kickof time gets nearer. Just post the time until kickoff and the reason you are starting to feel nervous.

Then maybe you fellow Patriots fans can help you with the anxiety that you are feeling.

It's the wait for me.. it's killing me.

Sunday will be brutal. The closer it gets, the worse I will be. I am confident the pats win and by more than 2 scores.

The wait is the only thing killing me... Once today is over, Fri is a blow off day for me at work...


But Im not nervous about the game, as the week has gone on, We are going to stomp the Giants...:rocker:

I'm anxious to get the game started! Time is going by toooooo slooooooow.

I think the anxiousness people are feeling is the fear that they may be becoming too overconfident. Normally, I agree with it. This week I say screw it. I'm going to sit here and let the overconfidence fill me up until all the doubt is washed away. Tempering your enthusiasim does you no good because, if they win, you wasted the whole week before the superbowl worrying yourself; and if they lose, well you will feel like crap regardless of what you said or thought this week. So I say stop worrying over every last pundit that has a negative thing to say about this game and start enjoying the hype about what could be the crowning achievment of one of the greatest teams of all time.

I am just anxious to eat the food we purchased. It looks great ... kills me to look at it every day and I have to wait until @4PM Sunday.

I've been nervous and anxious for a few days. Too much on the line not to be. However I am also getting more confident as the days go by which is helping. Seeing Brady practice, the Giants talk and hearing everyone (not just fans or local media) talk about how average and relatively slow the Giants' secondary is is what is boosting my confidence.

We're playing for "ever".

I agree with most of these posts. The wait is the worst part. The way I look at this game it this: If we are watching the best team ever, then they will go out and take care of business Sunday.

I think the "New" smiling BB everyone is talking about is proof that he is more excited about making history than nervous about failure.

Well, I have blowing off work since start of this week.

the omens, thanks to the media, are starting to look omnious: jints beat during the playoff those teams that beat them handily during the regular season, jints have 'nothing to lose', jints wore black, jints are like the '01 Pats going against an offensive machine to whom they barely lost in the regular season - just like the '01 Pats, jints are the best, jints are the greatest, jints have more than a shot...:bricks:

Gosh..hope all of that jinx the jints.

That said, my nervousness is increasing steadily

I got nervous at Heralds front page yesterday bashing Menino for parade plans. I closed my eye and said to myself "It's only the Herald, It's only the Herald"

Then I saw Sal Pimento on ESPN declare a Giants victory. I was furious and getting a little nervous. I kept repeating "I am not getting sucked in, I am NOT getting sucked in"

You guys seem to be the only ones who understand.

I was nervous earlier in the week, but now I've told myself that, win or lose, it's been a great, great season and one I will always look back on with pleasure.

My prediction: that will last until about 2 pm on Sunday. Then the nerves will come back!

I'm always nervous but I have been nervous about Bill smiling so much and being so friendly and so much talk about "ever" and a seemingly relaxed club. I want surly Bill and unsmiling players. After the talk about an "uneven" practice that Dante called "lousy", I'm really nervous.
