If someone would have asked me this question at the beginning of the season, I would have had a different answer.

Now I want this more than any of the others. And there are several reasons why this one means more.

1. The perfect season ending in a Championship.
2. The very harsh punishment handed down by the evil Roger Goodell.
3. All the media and opposing fan bull crap over the camera thing
4. The NY Giants. I don't think I could bare a loss to them in the Super Bowl. This is a team that claimed the NE area when I was growing up. Giants fans in NE are the most smug and arrogant that I have ever known. They were at their peak in the mid 80's and early 90's. Hell, a TV station in Portland would show the Giants game if they had the choice between the Patriots and the Giants.

So this one now means more to me than any of the others. How do you feel?

As badly as any Patriots game ever.

There are three primary reasons for me.

One, last year was the second worst result for me in any sport, following closely the Sox-Yankees in 2003. Like the result in 2004 for the Sox, I really would love turnabout.

Two, these Pats are just so awesome and this opportunity is so once in a lifetime that it would suck to the extreme to fumble it. Along the same lines, winning and getting that perfect season would be ridiculously awesome.

Three, I hate NY sports fans. I hate them with a passion. The thought of the NY Giants ruining things for the Pats is horrifying.

I want this because I know, as well as everyone else, that the Patriots are the better team. They should win this game plain and simple. As Junior said, this is for everything.

Of course you want them all, but...

2001: Team was huge underdog. Great that they won, but also surprised. If they lost, I would have shrugged and said "that's 3 Super Bowls where the Pats drew a one-year juggernaut". I wouldn't have felt bad.

2003: Wanted this one bad because after winning 14 in a row, you just had to finish the job.

2004: Wanted this one bad to cement the dynasty label and also finish consecutive 17-2 campaigns...an amazing feat.

But now we're in Montana's 49ers or Bradshaw's Steelers territory with the 4th SB in the decade. Coupled with that is the whole 19-0 and '72 Dolphins bit. Talk about finishing the job. They must do it. They've come way too far to let it all go up in smoke, especially to this particular Giants team. We've been spoiled by this team over the last 7 years and have come to expect more than other teams' fans, but the bar has been set high nonetheless. Let's hope they can hurdle it.

Regards,
Chris

I didn't think it was possible to enjoy a SB more than the first one, but it turns out that yes, I want this one more.

No season will ever top the first SB run. It was amazing, unexpected, magical. Watching the hardware accumulate has been fun too.

This season has been TENSE. It's been less about football than keeping score -- staying undefeated and piling up stats. I hated all the late games. I hated videogate and the 72 Dolphins.

Now we are down to one game and regardless of how good that game is or how entertaining the season wasn't, the accomplishment will be 'ever. That is reason enough to want this win. But there's more. A lot of our heroes will be hanging them up after this season -- I want it for them. What a great way for Tedy, Junior, Rodney, Troy, et al to finish.

Of course, I expect them to do it again next year ;)

I think I would give up 36, 38, 39 for this one. I would certainly give up any further SB wins. The combination of 19-0 plus all the Spygate crap makes me want it so much I can't dare to think about it.

If the Pats don't win on Sunday, I will have to take my life.

I voted for "I want this one badly" even though, personally, I cannot see anything topping that first SB win in #36. I cried in the stands when we won the game. But, I think this one means a lot to the players & BB. They have been so good to us fans for the past 7 years, I hope they get it for themselves!! Plus, it is awesome to be a fan of this team and it would be great to tell the grandkids someday about how you were a big fan of those perfect Patriots!!

I was just thinking about how I can't wait for the game to get here as I can't wait to see our team play again and see what they have in store.

Then I feel sorry for myself as I remember this will be the last game until September (Aug. if you like to count pre-season).

GO PATS!!!

IF the fans want it this bad, just imagine the players and the coaches...

There will be a lot of pressure come game time.. However, knowing the Pats they perform well, if not better, when the pressure is really on them. Each of them will give off their best... a lifetime best...

Let's hope the Giants show up.. Ultimately, as much as I'm rooting for the Pats, I want to see a good, exciting game with lots of drama followed by a Pats win...

See, Deb...this IS a HUGE game.;)

I think she meant not ot joke about losing. The "taking your life" part, I don't think she cared.:D

Not me. I want a nice comfortable win, even a blow out!. I got all the great close games during the first 3 Super Bowls.

The question out there is the past 3 years or so is, 'Are the Patriots a dynasty"?. This victory would cement that. It would also, IMO, make them the greatest dynasty in NFL history. I don't think anyone would be able to question that anymore. And the greatest part?....it's far from being over!!!

This one would be the biggest for me.
a. It will help take away the anger I felt after watching last year's AFCCG, and the way it was called.

b. It will shut up all the critics in regards to the Pats being a dynasty. The ones left talking will look stupid.

c. It will, in all likelihood, allow me to take a couple season off so to speak, as I can always fall back on 'Well the Pats went 19-0, they're the greatest ever'. Call it '72 Fins syndrome. ;)

d. It will provide endless ammunition in my weekly football discussions with my best friend, who is a die hard Colt's/Manning lover.
