Red Sox Tickets went on sale yesterday and I tried for five hours to order a few sets and couldn't. Prices on the second-hand market are almost as bad as Patriots Tickets. It got me to thinking, what would I rather have: Patriots or Red Sox Season Tickets? I think the answer is obvious for everyone on this site, but I am still interested.

Depends, I could make a ****load selling my Sox tickets..but the Pats games are great to go to b/c there isnt 82 of them.

no question the Patriots. With baseball playing a million games you have plenty of chances to see the soxs

That's putting it mildly. You're new around here, so you might not have seen the fireworks that result from the mere mention of that other team that plays some sort of game with a little round ball. Watch your back, friend. ;)

I don't understand this question.

What are these "Red Sox" you speak of? Is the NFL adding some new expansion teams?

They are a local sports team that is alienating their true fan base by charging an absorbent amount of money for tickets to one of their 81 games.

I didn't mean to piss anyone off, but I wasted 5 hours of my life that I won't get back trying to get the chance to overpay for tickets. I expected that others would share my pain having done the same.

as you noted this is not the place to get an unbiased opinion

to be honest, I prefer to watch the football games at home.

I watch in the comfort of my own home, eating the food I want with a great view of the action on my HD TV. Not only that, but I get to watch the 4 o'clock games as opposed to sitting in traffic.

I like to go to a game at least once a year though.

Actually one of the great thing about baseball over football is the alternatives. When I lived in Providence I went to a lot of Pawsox games, and when I lived in Lasing Michigan I often went to a lot of Lugnut games. I found the experience just as fun as going to Fenway for about the same cost as going to the movies.

I wish football had a minor league much the same way baseball or the AHL.

Ever since the MLB strike i haven't been much of a Sox fan ...
although i enjoy their triumphs - when they have those.

For all too long the Patriots have been more of a passion
than is healthy.

But still ...
i'd take the Sox tix, thankee.
Fenway is accessible.
Being at Fenway is exciting. Walkable environs.
And they don't repeatedly stop the game for tv commercials!
But i'm sure i would shower tickets on my friends.

Sorry to break ranks, but i'd rather watch the Pats on tv
than devote an entire day to getting there and back.

Normally I'd go off on a Red Sox question, and one that is asked during Super Bowl week.

But I owe TheSaprks1 one, so here it is.

I'll take the Red Sox tickets because, well, I'm just gonna say it:

I like baseball better than football.

Same here. That said, I agree with others: this is a NE Patriots forum, you don't see threads about the Pats on SoSH, nor should you. I come here for my Pats fix, and have other boards when I want to talk baseball.

I'd rather watch paint dry than sit at a baseball game for nine innings in small seats with someone asking to walk in forn tof me to go to the restroom, pay $5.00 for a hot dog where they don't even put the condiments on, or pay $4.00 for a bottle of water, and have some annoying dude sit behind me. And parking pretty much sucks since half the lots jam them in and you have to wait to get out or get blocked in. But other than that it's cool.

Why don't you take advantage of the great weather and watch grass grow instead? It's much more productive and rewarding than watching the synapses in Manny Ramirez's "brain" misfire.

Hey, that brain makes high precision split second decisions that few mortals can make every time he steps in the batter's box.

HAHAH...My level of frustration with the Red Sox wouldn't be the same a month from now so I probably wouldn't have posted it then.
